Will It Run? 1967 Simplicity Landlord 2010 | Part 1

This time I bring in an old lawn tractor. It is a 1967 Simplicity Landlord 2010 that had been previously worked on in an attempt to get it restored. Starting with basic troubleshooting we end up finding the timing is way off. After that, a failed first attempt to get this to run.

I never would have thought to put a saw bench into double duty as you did. I'd still be trying to figure out where I could put the motor. Now that's using your noggin!

The holes are actually to turn it into a saw buck that is the same height at my workbench

Rebuilding one myself , however there is no definition to where the coil wires connect. Mine has 3 wires , the plug wire , a black wire and a bare uninsulated wire. Can I assume the bare wire is connected to permanent ground and the black wire to a terminal which also connects the points and kill (ignition) switch. The plug wire is pretty obvious...

I think you are right. I believe I read somewhere that some parts are interchangeable.

The slip pin always falls into the rear end pan

Is there a part 2 to this?!?! I am currently working ony 1967 at the moment. I'm trying to get the mower deck running, figuring out the right size belts, etc.... Did you just use standard 10w40 engine oil in it? That's what it looked like, I'm changing the oil tomorrow and wondering what to use.

It sounds like it has blow by it probably needs a new head gasket

How did you get the pulley off for the starter belt infrint of the flywheel

They engineered the rear end in a simplicity bad keep an eye on it

You have to give it a good thump on top and the shock breaks it loose. A google search would provide better details and pictures.
