Great video. Well, I see three options here: Option # 1 Two new connecting rods, valve guides and seals, rings kit, new spark plugs and honing the skirts should run you for about $500 on parts (tops), plus your labor time. Option # 2 You can get a new FV-691 series @ 22 HP for about $1500.00, and use this one for spare parts (Heads, Block, Crank, Etc). Option # 3 Go to your local H-Freight Store and get a predator engine for about $950. Although I don't know how reliable Predator Engines are. Sometimes, when the damage is so extensive, is better to let "The Ghost" Go, and get a new motor The cheap alternative to all of this is: Properly maintained equipment. Oil is cheap.

I think your doing a great job of bringing us some good content. You at least have some good parts for other engines. The starter alone was well worth the $20. My experience with blown engines is that it usually breaks something in the block, but you wont know until you tear it apart. I dont know if you sell parts like Henry, but he makes good profit doing that. Goodluck Alex. I will be interested in how well the White zero turn mower turns out! ✌🇺🇸
@freedommowers42011 ай бұрын
Thank you Roger. Yes I talked with Henry the other day for a bit and he gave me some great tips and insight on things. He told me a bit about the eBay parts selling as well. Two days ago I made my first contact with a local scrapper just by accident while running errands. Saw a guy with an equipment trailer full of what looked like scrap with a couple mower handles peeking out above the other stuff. Pulled into the parking lot and had a look. Bought an old, very rough Honda HR194 push mower with a solid deck for $10. He’s going to keep an eye out for a portable air tank I could use as well as my first zero turn. Says he’s scrapping a local landscaper soon who has a huge amount of equipment. His girlfriend is looking for a generator and I have one in my scrap yard which might be the right one! Asked him to send me photos of anything he sees that I might want. I told him I’m really only looking for high end machines at this point since I already have too many mid-range equipment to restore. I’m also a baker and he’s willing to trade! Win-win!
@freedommowers42011 ай бұрын
That is most certainly a win win. Keep building those relationships and the machines will keep coming.

Sorry I didn’t get to this one before you posted the followup, Alex. How did you bolt the engine to that frame since with pressure washers the engine and the pump bolt to each other? Would have liked to have seen that. I have a pressure washer frame I’ll be setting up for the same purpose. Yes, I use old oil to test engines too. No need to waste money on fresh oil at that point. I would have tested compression on the other cylinder just to have a better handle on overall condition, as long as you were there. Great idea setting up a battery with leads to open the fuel solenoid. I was thinking that’s how you were going to shut the engine down as well! Oops! 😉
@freedommowers42011 ай бұрын
I should have shut it down with the fuel solenoid. I honestly didn’t even think about it in the moment. As for the mounting, I just figured out the spacing for the bolt holes and drilled a couple into the pressure washer plate.

@@chriseisele9969 honestly if your looking for a machine that you can work on easily and are pretty tough. I would try and find a craftsman lt1000,2000 or another model similar. It would be a good rebuild if all the parts are available and not crazy expensive or would be a great parts engine to keep a good mower going. It ran on one cylinder so it has heart and wants to live. It's just a little bit sick right now. My friend gasoline engines might not be around for much longer so might want to revive the ones that you can. You can do it. I know you can. Just what I would do.
@freedommowers42011 ай бұрын
