The only thing that I can say with any certainty is that if anybody can get it going then it's you! A forklift is ever a bad thing to have around. On the farm we have one that is used for everything. It is the most reliable starter and gets used to jump start everything else. We have a hook that clamps onto the forks,brilliant for engine changes etc. Soon you will wonder how you ever managed without it when it becomes your go to solution for pretty much everything!

There are several levels of genius to what you are showing us. One is the truly vast wealth of mechanical knowledge you demonstrate and teach. But you do something else, too. You demonstrate how to enjoy learning from one's mistakes as you heartily laugh or chuckle at your wrong turns and setbacks. So not only would you win the Nobel prize for tinkering, if they had one, you could add the tag line of #therapy to your video descriptions because that is what they are. I've been watching for awhile and it just struck me how important and significant your laughter is! You laugh because you know intuitively what an over priced university lecturer once overcharged me to tell me : it's not important what you do, it's just important that you do it. You are the Einstein of internal combustion!

not a regulator fyi .... its a converter .... it heats the gas and coverts it from liquid to gas ... i run all my cars on lpg and i also specialized in lpg at my mechanic shop
@jondunn59865 жыл бұрын
Actually rob without trying to be a smart a@#e it doesn't use the heat to change properties as it changes from a liquid to a gas it removes all heat from the surrounding so it can actually freeze the liquid, they are water heated to stop them from freezing

Actuallu there is regulator and evaporator. Regulator lowers pressure so that LPG can evaporate. And coolant hoses prevent ice.
@robburdack43615 жыл бұрын
not where im from .... any regulation is taken care of by the valve on the tank ... there is full pressure to the converter ... yes the converter uses coolant .... infact there is no need what so ever for a "regulator" because the passages inside and the heat is enough to restrain it .... along with the tuning via the screws to change tune .... the name for the part of a gas converter

Most of there sales were to factories in the area and were in buildings most of the time. The changeover was easy as the truck came wired for both gas and LP. We replaced the carbs an added the heater, hoses, tank bracket and bammm, you have a Propane truck. We left the gas tanks on them and put a locking cap on it... :)

Wow forklifts, mowers, bucket vans, pickups, Vdubs, string trimmers, snow blowers, tillers, motorcycles, bicycles, I'd bet with a wrench set, some air tools, and a multimeter, Mustie could reactivate the Iowa class battleship USS New Jersey!! LOL

A fork lift is always handy to have around. I've wanted one for years and have always planned a parking space for one in my house plans.

Looks like a Mazda engine, worked for a Yale forklift dealer for years. These engines are gutless POS's. Impossible to tune. Good luck Mazda e

I ran my machine shop (during the nineties) with two used $500 forklifts that were destined for scrap. I had a two ton Clark, propane, hard-tire (only needed a distributor cap), and a 2 ton pneumatic tired Hyster gasoline, which was running when bought. I bought two new seats, and that was it besides the distributor cap.

janky loading. Questionable tires. slightly overloaded transport. mouse nest. cobbled wiring. but she still goes vroom. Can't wait for the next video!! it will make moving stuff around a lot easier and i was just waiting for you to get to close to those wires and get reminded they were there lol. Because thats exactly what would have happened to me too lol

Old lifts like that are gold, especially low hour ones. Solid, sturdy and very simple. A lot of companies abandon them because the labor charges (and parts scarcity if you do not have connections) make a new one more afforadable (to the bean counters). I deal with Nissans and Toyotas that have ten times that amount of use and are still going strong. Newer lifts have all kinds of wacky computer/electronic controls. Look around for a ~4 ton forklift jack. They sometimes can be very cheap, and are handy for more than forklifts. Lastly, keep up on the chains. You can let everything else leak, but if you lose a chain, that mast is coming down NOW.

Lesson learned for me. Do not install a propane tank without gloves. That crap is cold!
@NathanielStauber5 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I was taught to not use gloves.

Nathaniel Stauber I was switching tanks on a fork lift, not knowing that I had two washers and not one. It spit a spray of propane on my hands, extremely cold.

PLEASE be careful offloading the forklift off of the trailer. My life would mean nothing without Mustie1.

I spent many years driving forklifts so this is dear to my heart, mostly Nissan. Made for a great video bro

I drove forklifts for around 20 years, everything from old flathead Continental Pettibones to Crowns,Clarks,Nissans,TCM, and I think even Yales similar to these but most of them were electric though after USDA put the kibosh on running propane machines near production lines, had a lot of fun over the years and had a few close calls😰

My dad could have fixed this machine in his sleep. Everything from saws to cranes to plasma cutters to side-loaders and forklifts, my dad knew it all. After a week of paying for a factory "expert" trying to fix a side-loader, my dad diagnosed the problem in 10 minutes over the phone. I wish I could call him for you.

@Project Miranda I'm a forklift tech mate, all smaller yale forklifts from early 90's through early 2000's used mazda engines. (gas and diesel).

Just be FE Mazda motor then anything earlier than that would be a VA Mazda motor.
@deezelfairy5 жыл бұрын
@@Ic3MaCc Not so sure, I really don't recognise the rocker cover on this one. Here in the UK I've only seen FE or F2 at this age - Yale, hyster and a few cushion tyre TCM's. The VA/UA has a pressed steel rocker cover and is a push rod engine but only ever seen it in XL series hysters (80's - early 90's). May be an E5 (chain OHC) only engine I can find on google with that rocker cover but I've never seen one here in the UK.

Life long forklift mechanic here. That is a fairly popular model. Mazda FE engine. The propane system is easy to work on and the parts are cheap. That's going to be a nice machine once you fix it up. Once it's running it will be worth 10 times what you paid for it. Speak up in the future is you have any questions.
