Still got my Marauder and my Flying Point Jet probe. Saved up my pocket money, birthday money and Christmas money to get it. Those were the days!

I am 61 years old and remember back in the early 80's in south Texas, I used to go to my local hobby shop before the electric days! I remember the nitro engines costing $200.00 and up which was a heap of cash in those days. Now they are super cheap by comparison!

When using alligator clips on a battery on the bench like that it doesn't matter. It does matter in a car . You want to do the positive first. if you do the negative first and you're tightening up the positive second your wrench could touch the positive and something that is grounded such as the engine or the body of the car. That will create a short circuit. if you hook up the positive first then that won't happen.

I’ve literally been restored mine bar from the cv joint as I pretty much linked it with the differential same on the other side but you will lose your suspension I’m doing it to mine as I’ve got plans with mine but you can put a universal joint couplings on it so no plastic cv joint just measure the width of your axle n your good to go there only 10 pounds can send a link if you want it bud more then happy to help keep up the hobby

@@HaggardRC thanks mate I definitely will , working on them and bringing a car back to life when it's been in a garage or loft for 20 + years is so satisfying I love it , I can't get out to run cars as much as others with being disabled with spinal injuries my mobility is not to good but when I do boy I love it , i am going to see if I can send you some pictures of the savage I bought and I wondered if you could take a look and hopefully you could tell me what model it is , then I can order the parts I need to get it up and running , have you figured out how to sort the rear axles on the buggy in the video mate 🇬🇧

Tires are wrong, originals were foam, yellow plastic rims. My steering servo was in the box lid not through the box with a rod. Blue engine top i don't recognise. I remember it was well easy to start backward the shop never told me to reverse the starter motor cables

Nice !! I am going straight on to Ebay now to see if I can find one. There is a manual on the internet I downloaded it the other day it has got all very detailed exploded diagrams of how it all fits together.

Hey man. Enjoyed this video. Total noob here. I've recently found my marauder which I bought as a kid at a boots sale around 30 years ago. Never got it running back then. Would love to get it going with my kids now. I'm wondering what fuel you used in yours? Just reading around the Internet, sounded like it was designed to run on non nitro fuel. Something called FAI? But doesn't look like that is readily available.
@HaggardRC4 жыл бұрын
Hi, well FAI fuel is 80% methanol and 20% castor. Notice there in no provision for nitro but also no allowance for synthetic oil. The term "FAI fuel" is often used to simply mean no nitro fuel and while that is correct, FAI fuel really is 80% Methanol - 20% Castor... no exceptions. This is per the FAI sporting code. It must be 20% oil and all 1st pressing castor. I don’t know where you can buy it, I used 25% and 16% nitro in mine. It’ll be fine with modern fuels :)

@@HaggardRC thanks very much for the reply. That's great, just wanted to be sure I wasn't going to screw it up by using a standard nitro fuel. Thanks very much again.
