We went up to a mine/logging Co that has long since shut down to look at a 75 Peterbilt that has not run in 18 years. While there, we discover an abandoned 59 Mack B and a 65 Peterbilt dump truck!!
HERE is part 2: • Will it start....1 tha...
They were abandoned after the mine and logging operations shut down. There is no timeline but we were told the mining shut down in the Reagan ERA and the logging followed a few years later. So maybe as much as 30 plus years since these 59 Mack and the 65 Peterbilt were on the road.
NOW WE HAVE MERCH!!! countrylifewi....
#willitstart #countrylife
My whole Idea is that a truck that was in running condition should probably start but what about motors that really should not run, can they still go...
What about after the rest of the truck is too far gone to save can it still be started??

When starting an old truck pump the primer more than a couple half hearted pumps. Pump until the primer goes hard. Till it's full. Like the old man did.

That Cat 3406-B is what I had in both of my Pete's (my '74 and '84), and they both purred like kittens going up in the mountains! Just make sure you clean those fuel filters really good on that Cat, and you have plenty of cranking amps in those batteries!...👍

How are you doing, you are looking at 3 great time pieces there, alot of people will tell you you can't find parts for the B-73? Mack, this is the farthest thing from the truth. Like I suggested to you previously, join "ATHS", It's a nation wide truck club just for antique truck owners, plus a great resource for finding parts and it's actually harder to find parts for that 351 Needle nose Peterbilt dump truck than the Mack. Either way, you can't go wrong saving a vital piece of trucking history I'm 4th generation trucker and trucks of all types run deep in our viens.

If you could find the right front fender back in the woodds that Mack would be awesome to see back on the road with a couple new stacks on it. Probably get a rear end cut off from a junkyard with modern brakes you could stretch the frame a bit with. The body style on those are so MEAN looking but sexy at the same time. Get a new Bulldog for the top of the Rad lmao Sweet to tow home and work on. I'd watch that Resto-mod series for sure!

My buddy bought a B81 Mack 10 wheel dump back in the day. It was sitting next to a barn and seriously covered in vines. We jumped it with a Startall and it fired off right away. So he figures he's just going to drive it out. When he did the vines were so attached to the barn it pulled a big piece of the wall down and the whole barn sorta leaned over that way. Boy was that guy ever pi$$ed

The old guy had quite a collection. A guy could be entertained all day long just looking around. If that setting was down here in Georgia I would be approaching everything on high alert mode, lest a rattlesnake, or some other creature darts out at ya. The whole time I was watching the video I was thinking that man you better look around before climbing up in the old truck, or reaching your hand down the engine compartment. At least you were alert on the bears lol : - ) Thanks for the interesting video. Buff Metro Atlanta USA An unrelated great website: www.gty.org
