Glad the equipment i pick up isn't that action packed. Little small for my 7 axle truck and trailer though. Next time you need to haul that old girl, backing it on might be easier as you can steer more to get the rear where you want it. Graders that small usually are haulled sitting on main deck only as they are light. Cheers from heavy haul trucker.

Hank, how about making up a basic "start it up kit? Including fuel, water, hydraulic fluid, hot batteries, battery cables, wire terminals, nuts and bolts, good penetrant, starting fluid, rags, hand cleaner, basic hand tools. I know it's fun seeing if you can crank these machines on the cheap but it's so damn frustrating for us who are mechanical to agonize over watching you all futz around. PLEASE.

back in the year of 1970 when I was 10 I lived in the small city of Placentia, in The Orange County in the state of Cali. . As fate would have it, a plant was put up where large tanks were to be stored. The company was "PAR-GAS". Every day I would go and watch and the workers taught me how and let me drive that "grader''. And a "roller, bulldozer, water-tank truck and a couple of others. All I did in return was get their cans of "refreshments" at the end of each day. I wish that I would've stuck with the machines......I miss them a whole lot. By the way that Galion is a beauty! Thank you for the good memories and your editing time!

I live in Galion, Ohio where that old girl was made. Always makes me proud to see the Galion name on equipment when traveling around the country. I remember as a kid seeing large lots of those graders (and cranes and rollers) waiting on delivery and completion. I lived near their proving/training/r+d grounds. We would sneak onto the grounds and watched the graders being tested. It was quite a blow for this small town when Komatsu closed the plant.

I had a dirt dobber stop up my fuel line on my farmall at a tractor pull this yr . Just as soon as I pulled on the track . Quit running in front of all the people lol . It's good to see this grader on the move .

This purged up lines problems is the reason I carry Engine dipsticks on my trucks and tractors to pock in and unplug the lines, and when you let Diesel set for long periods of time you will every time plug up ,kool thanks BigAl California.

I do think that you men did try your best, and it was enough to get it home. For no further than you had to travel, I would of stopped trying to balance it out n just shut it down and took it home once the truck could hook up. It bit him a bit fussing with it and he knew if it was close that next time and home it came. I'd see some leaks to be managed a bit but hoses, I highly doubt it as there is not enough money in china for fixing all that unless you decide its worth a working machine again. So many spool valves and junk up in all the controls.... a month of sundays just getting the controls up to speed. One thing though is now you have air to blow the chunks out. What I see is a machine that has so many parts to get others working again. Thanks Hank for giving it all you had to get it home. I know the feeling of setting behind the wheel of a eighteen wheeler and just tickling the gears one time.

Isn't the Hyd pump on the engine RPM ? or is it on just 12/24 v. I think the RPM transmission drives the pump so the RPM needs to be higher to get more pressure.
