I built up a 05 crf450r, with a X motor. The carb I did a FULL rebuild, the middle orings were dry and blocking internal passages. The carb itself was clean, whomever I bought the carb off has used rtv and that got into holes too. Ran but was not right and SUPER lean, could not kick start it unless I was exhausted on the verge of death lol Choke, fuel screw, didn't help at all. I jetted. 42 pilot and 180 main. It was perfect! Doing a full rebuild on the engine I bought right now! Just got a 20 ton shop press to do the crank, with a wossner rod. Gonna true the crank and clean/polish it up a bit. wiseco piston and clutch basket. oem everything else. Engine came with a rekluse clutch cover. Also some red dress up items. I do have a boyeson coolant elbow! Waiting on some title stuff so I can get it street legal so perfect time to rebuild! It ran amazing after carb rebuild though, I just want it too run amazing for another 20 years :D

A 20 ton press for single cylinder engines is a huge waste. I’ve been using the same 1 ton press my papaws had for the last 30-40+ years and I’ve never had one issue aside from it being outside so I don’t get warmth in the winter months. Atleast you’ll never need anything bigger lol
@caldeioАй бұрын
@@offroadaddict2822 Oh? I would of went with the cheaper smaller one :D 189lbs is alot in a tiny box :D Everything I saw was 20 ton was min or you'd have tons of rebound and that crack from too much strung load.
@offroadaddict2822Ай бұрын
@ you’re talking to someone who’s used the 1 ton for years on multiple projects no issues ever caused unless I made a huge mistake on my behalf you wasted a lot of money buying 18 useless tons

Awesome vid I’m slowly getting back into dirtbikes because of my youngest son granted he’s 17, picked up a project 06 yz250f when he was 15 and fixed it up together Now I have a project 05 Rmz450 sitting in the garage for myself lol Be aware on these carbs that you can rebuild the mid body also, All balls makes a mid body gasket kit for them
