🇺🇸 Greetings! Guess who got to start it & drive it FIRST…Joel! Gotta learn sometime! DT 466 power & 5 speed transmission. No air horns!😢 This truck was known as the Gate Truck on the lot. Our buddy retired & is selling off his equipment…trucks, trailers, wreckers. There’s still some left! We couldn’t buy everything, but what ALL did we get?!🧐 Our friend, Rob &,his son, were pulling the General out of the field that day. His Ford got a little hot in the process.🧐 It was warm & a good day for Fathers & Sons to be gathering trucks! 🤩 The goal is to drive the truck home…a few more things are needed for that to happen & now we also have a deadline. There’s more fun coming, so Stay Tuned! 🥰😎✌️

🇺🇸 We’ve seen quite a few sharp little S model Internationals. I think they had issues with the cabs rusting away, like our does. They were very popular back in the day & I really like their looks. That’s one reason we bought it. I’ve heard many good things about that DT466 engine & I knew this one had run well years ago. We haven’t decided it’s fate & are preparing to repair the brakes very soon. It at least got cleaned up a bit…check that out. Thanks for visiting us. 🥰🤩✌️

@@the.porter.productions it enjoyed over 45-year production run. Introduced in the '70s first for use in agricultural equipment and four-wheel drive tractors, it would find its way under the hood from everything to box trucks, dump trucks, especially school buses. Reliable, and they will always start! You can't kill it. I don't know maybe the max force engines leave some questionability.. there was even a smaller variant of the DT engine family, besides the DT466. There was a DT408, a smaller version of the DT family, mechanical injected. From 1987 to 1994,The DT360, there was also a DTA360, or aftercooled. A DT530. And of course the max force series of engines, I'm missing one or two I'm sure. And you can't forget the electronic variance of the DT466.

@@isfeldt34 🇺🇸 Thanks for the info. I like that it’s more mechanical than anything else. The manual kill switch was a shock at 1st. It runs well & we’re excited about that even. If we can get a little more power out of it then we might try it. I think it might be around 210 hp but I’m not sure, just right off the top of my head. It will do what we want as it is. 🇺🇸 Yep, a DT466 emblem. It runs really well & has 23 feet of frame behind the cab. It had a big box on it, but we removed it about 5 years ago. My friend used it on his lot as a gate to the field. The yelling was me getting all excited….for myself & Joel. It was his 1st time driving a big truck like that! 🥰 This truck has such potential & I’m not sure exactly what will happen to it, but we gotta get it home first. From the beginning, I thought this truck had such potential. I had offered to buy it before when my buddy had the box taken off. All the tires were up, I knew it had run in the last 5 years & I just had to try to buy it. Those stuck brakes gave us such a hard time! I missed out on other trucks & I sure regretted it. It ran better than I had expected! It was great that Joel was the first one to drive it since we bought it. Good times!! 🥰😎✌️

I have the same truck, the shutdown cable cuts off fuel at the injection pump, not the air intake.
