I still have and play my 1987 Nintendo NES. I was 17 years old when I got mine, I'll be 55 years old next month and still love my NES. Mario, super Mario and the legend of Zelda are still my favorite games. So glad it works great for you!! Like me, you will probably find you wind up spending more time with your NES than you planned on.

Such a great system! I picked up two for cheap at a yard sale this year. Had to renew the 72 pin connectors in both but they are both still going strong! Simple and reliable systems.

I didn't realize until after I made this video how cheap and plentiful the connectors are. I ordered a couple!

@@VintageElectronicsChannel I ended up boiling mine in hot water and bending the top pins back up to original form. Worked like a charm!

Yep, the expansion slot was never used in north America. The closest thing to an actual expansion product was a prototype lottery ticket machine made in the USA. I believe it was somewhere in the north west but i could be wrong. The idea of the add-on was so you could buy you lottery tickets at home, but because this was a "childs device" it didn't get developed further. If someone here knows I am wrong please correct me, I read about this years ago.

That's the first I've heard of the lottery machine. I have a feeling there's a rabbit hole there i need to go down.

@@VintageElectronicsChannel Yeah! Those old accessories for video games consoles are really weird.
