My father was emotionally abusive to the point where I believed I sucked, I didn't deserve to be loved by anyone and all I had were flaws and no good qualities at all, and when one of my teachers didn't believe this and tried to almost force me to believe my father loved me and cared about me, I got angry. As of right now, I'm only 19, but I love children and I do want them in the future, and I'll assure they'll never feel the way I felt as a child. I'll obviously correct their failings, but I'll never belittle or insult them as people.

Leah isn't a little "boo boo" anymore. She is a young lady and realizes just how absent her mom has been. I understand Gary's reasoning for trying to encourage her to have a relationship with Amber, but it isn't Leah's job to be the one to try to med the relationship. She is an innocent child who didn't ask to be born. It's her birth mother's job to be present. I just hope they don't push Leah too hard and she ends up resenting them, too.

Jace would've had a better chance had barbara just let social services take him instead of taking custody. Either jenelle would've actually stepped up to get him back, or he would have been adopted into the home he deserves. But him going to barbara, jenelle didn't do anything to earn back custody. He shouldn't haven't have been out of her custody for a few weeks let alone 10-11yrs. Barbara having him jenelle could just continue doing the bullshit that made social services take him in the first place. Claims her mom won't give him back forgetting the fact it's blasted across millions her admitting to a lawyer she knew her mom couldn't give custody back, only a judge could. As for now, how in TF can someone have 21 cps cases against them, losing custody of one, 3 born with drugs in their system, david beating and shooting a 7lb dog infront of them, and whatever the rest were from, and have no consequences?! She tried to spin the people don't like me lie but people don't like a lot of people but they didn't end up with all of that. No kids should be around any of them.

Normally don't comment on this stuff, but I think that was far from shaming. I think Gary actually had a really healthy conversation with his little girl about this. She is still a child at this point and it is his duty and responsibility as a dad to prevent and allow her to see what detrimental effect certain action can have, and I think he did exactly that. Amber did fail, though, I agree, and even now she's not trying hard enough to sort it out for the sake of her child.

Never encourage your child to hate or "write off" a parent, especially at such a young age; that is 1000% the childs decision. And a decision that should be made when said child is mature enough to understand the impact hate has on this world. But I can completely see Leah's pov... I unfortunately deal with similar circumstances with my 16yr old daughter and her father. I always encourage her to love him even when he isn't being very loveable bc #1 what you put out will always come back to you and #2 bc that is the only biological dad she will ever have, no matter what he has or hasn't done, holding grudges only hurt you in the long run.... Hopefully she’ll be able to express how she feels one day without Gary trying to get her to change her mind because what he feels is best. She’s telling him how she feels and she said no that she didn’t want to invite her mom. He’s opening up room for her to feel rejected again. What I got from Gary’s speech was more about not regretting it later. Amber is still her mom. I think Gary is trying to include Amber bc he is hoping Leah will have that relationship with her mom one day and it won’t happen if she completely shuts Amber out. I went through what Leah went through, my mom chose drugs and guys over me all the time, never came to my birthday because she had a new bf, never came over for any holidays because of being high and having a bf. I was 12 when my mom finally tried coming into my life and I didn’t want to because I knew at that time I wasn’t important to her. Leah has Kristina, she’s very lucky to have her and to have someone who loves you as their own child is a very special thing.

the comment of "All she did was give birth to me" would have cut like a knife. That would have been hard for Amber to hear :( The only thing is tho, the sad truth is Amber will probably respond to it poorly & continue the victim behavior. Unfortunately, I don't know if they entirely knew what they were signing up for when agreeing to do teen mom.. The kids grow up, they hear kids talk, they see the internet and nothing is hidden.
