heyitskymberly that sounds just like my cousin. her parents helped create a monster by giving her everything, doing ANYTHING to give her what she wanted (not what she needed). Now her parents say she is bipolar, but she ONLY throws a fit when she does not get her way, she will scream, do and say anything, she even assaults her parents. I am no doctor but I know a fair amount about Psychology and she has no symptoms of bipolar other than raging. Like I said she only gets into a rage when something does not go her way, she has no high highs or low lows, any other signs. She seems to have an anger problem... the most extreme one anyone around here has ever seen. Starting as a child she would call her parents when we left school and demand her mother bring her a very specific dinner from a certain place by 5pm. Shes in her 20's now. Smoking cigs since she was about 9. She has a long history of showing up drunk to parties starting at 12 years old (her dad drove her, yet somehow did not notice her reeking of booze and being stumbling drunk). Then she started doing other drugs with the older kids and everything got worse. I have photos she sent me with cocaine in her hard years ago. Shes done everything in the book, even while she was pregnant. Somehow her child made it, but I fear for the child everyday. He does not deserve that kind of environment. I hear the screaming awful fights that happen. I pray that the father will leave and take the child. I am almost positive if he could record her outrageous behavior in front of the child, several times and prove how she uses the child against him and to keep him from leaving. Last night he screamed "my child deserves better than this" during a fight, but he just stays... no matter what. I think he could get full custody. Sadly her parents are no better and now her father has a drinking problem and a dui. He watches the child all day... he drives her around, he even drives the mower with him on his lap! I fear that either the child will end up just like the mother or end up mentally scared from her. I have been abused & bullied by her my whole life. I cannot imagine what is going to happen to that child and it scares me.

Ryan was under the influence, yes, but very likely of prescription benzos (think: xanax, klonopin) because of the heightened anxiety (which he's known to have) from this situation. It's entirely possible he A. only uses it as needed, such as circumstances like this, or B. uses it daily, but took a larger dose for this occasion due to the circumstances surrounding it. Don't be so quick to judge, while I do agree he has some issues I don't think that it one of them is recreational drug use/abuse (again).

Marci’s story line was alway the most interesting because she’s always been the most mature and responsible out of all of them. The best and worse thing resulted from her pregnancy. She got the opportunity for this show and her baby but also has to deal with someone like Ryan until their kid turns 18. I question his sobriety only because he was able to hide it from the show and producers for so many years. He also barely went to rehab. It usually takes ppl several attempts before they can get clean. I think the rehab was like 30 days, 60 at most. He needs a long term program. Did Ryan and mac leave their dog in the car while they’re at his party? TF

erin corinne well for mast yes it takes a few times but that’s not the case in all I’ve had clients that came to rehab and have never been back and clean and sober. Also it all depends on the insurance for residential programs. It use to be 90 days for county and 28 day for Premium insurance and 30 days for cash only. But it all different now due to expansion of medical insurance or Medicare which ever you state funded healthcare calls it. Now it 30 intensive groups and other structure of coping skills. With little down time. But if needed they can be extended for another 30 days up to 90 days but only if the counselor can write well in the reports for the extra time needed and that’s where most of the problems come from is the paperwork for the extensions normally get denied because the counselor didn’t add in the things that the person is not grasping or had resistance and they didn’t want to bother with them.

So, In high school in TN out of mine and my brothers click...10 have died from opioid overdose. I was addicted for a while as well. Ryan acting like he is stuffed up or has a cold..... I see riiiiiight through it. I hope he has the strength and will power to clean himself up before it’s too late. More often than not it’s too late. Maci and Taylor Are badass parents. And Jen and Larry are good grandparents! But this addiction Ryan has affects so many people. Mackenzie turns a blind eye I feel like or she doesn’t want to air his business which I highly respect. Coming from a recovered heroin addict... 5:17 he is 100% high. The drooping face muscles, slow blinking, shaking the head to try and stay awake, low cracked voice, small pupils, pale skin (as in no redness), are all signs of opiate high. It's incredibly sad, he needs to go to a treatment center.

I’m 20 now and always remember all the good about my dad but his addiction always put a strain on our relationship. He will never be able to have a normal healthy dad/son relationship with Bentley or his other kids. Anyways I think it is so sweet how Ryan’s parents still have such a good relationship with Macy and Bentley, even her other kids ran up and hugged Bentley grandparents.

My brother died of a heroin overdose in March. It was a long, draining 4 years of addiction for my family. Fortunately, he didn’t leave behind a child. Drug addiction sadly always ends in loss of life. Its good Bentley has such a great mom and step dad.
