First of all... how are you feeling? Better, I hope! Second, I have to point out that Цікава (feminine) means "interesting". So Google Translate did its job to translate it in Russian. Also, I noticed about the word for dog in Polish is "pies", Ukrainian has another word for dog which is Пес, very similar! So you are hearing words that have migrated from one country to the other. 'To do' in Ukrainian is роботи which I found the similar for to work in Russian. The Polish word "lubie" (sorry I don't have the accents for Polish) is very close to Ukrainian любить, and кохання in Ukrainian, is for romantic love. I began learning a bit of Polish and Russian on Duolingo, and to be honest, I had to give it up because it was interfering with my focus and progress I'd made with Ukrainian. But that's me. For you on the other hand, you have a knack to learn more than one language and seem to know how to shift the gears in your brain to toggle between languages, therefore, for someone like you I would say this can broaden your vocabulary because you will learn many words that are shared or find synonyms for in your other languages.

Hi Marlana, Thank you so much for watching, I'm feeling a lot better thanks but still tested positive this morning. Hopefully I can go back to work soon... I knew you would give me great feedback. I think I must have typed "important" instead of "intersting" in my spreadsheet. I just checked Duolingo's dictionary. Oops - my mistake! Interesting hearing that Пес is another word for dog. It reminds me of "hound" in English being similar to "Hund" in German. The other day I was trying to speak Polish with my colleague. She usually understands me, despite my bad accent and grammar. I'd started learning Ukrainian and had been listening to Russian previously. I said роботa instead of pracuja and she remarked that I'd suddenly started including Russian words in the conversation. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to switch efficiently between these languages. Sometimes the toggle mechanism is a bit clunky!! Let's see how it develops.

Do you follow LangFocus on KZbin? Paul made a good video about tips that might help, and the comments also offer some advice too. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYGzp5iKd558n80

@@talkingmotanka yes I follow Paul's channel. I had seen that video a while ago. He makes a lot of sense. I think I use his tip number 3 (imagining myself being in Sicily) when I speak Italian.
