Love that you mentioned the league and safties will adjust to his deep ball potentially . That just means less stacked boxes vs Henry. In theory this should open up the run game tremendously for Henry.

That first touchdown was pretty bizarre. It almost looked to me more like Hopkins was a punt-coverage guy and he was getting forced out-of-bounds. Then Hopkins realized he’s a receiver and really should’ve been flagged for OPI I think. But the last TD that Will threw was a thing of beauty. He had to go back foot then launched it over 50 yards in the air on a dime. Looked like an Aaron Rodgers’ throw. But the first time I saw Will Levis throw - it was draft night, I’d never heard of him, and when I saw him sitting there with a frown on his face I looked at his highlights - I thought immediately of Phillip Rivers. But Will has a “better” more over-the-top throwing motion and I think a slightly better arm than Rivers had. I get the feeling that Levis’ play during his first NFL game was no mirage although he will hit speed bumps. Everybody does.

The first route to Hopkins is DPI on the DB well before you can even claim Hopkins was guilty of OPI, so that's why is ended up being a no-call, plus the DB like you said gave no effort at the end of the play, so he got what he deserved for blatantly shoving Hopkins out of his route illegally after five yards.
@TheAlbert1A1 Жыл бұрын

In regards to his first TD on the play where DHop got away with pretty obvious OPI, I think that is what Sean McVay calls a "love of the game" play. That's why he got rid of Goff, who is a great QB, but plays very rigid and within the play call. In the Super Bowl the Rams won, one of Stafford's TDs to Cooper Kupp wasn't even part of the progression, Kupp was just a distraction... Stafford saw him getting open anyway for a huge TD. That's what Levis did here, in my opinion.

Will Levis was a great QB his first year at UK. Liam Coen taught him how to be a Pro Style QB. Coen left and UK made the worst OC hire in history to replace Liam, also battled injuries the whole year his second year. There is not a guy in the locker room who is more competitive and wants to do good than Will. Also a stand up guy who does alot of good in the community. Remember he came to UK in 21 as a run first QB out of Penn State. He's not been a pass first QB except for the past few years. He still has alot to learn, but he has the advantage of being this good before he really learns the position fully. Hopefully he progresses and has a long career he deserves it. Also the shrug is a Levis thing. He does it regularly. I think it's just a routine thing like patting the ball.
