If he truly felt any remorse for what he did to his wife, he would have negotiated a plea deal, pled guilty, served a short jail sentence, then moved on with his life with the hopes of repairing his family. The fact that he made his wife's sit through this trial and listen to all of his evil and corrupt acts shows us he has no respect for his wife and could care less that he has humiliated her in front of the world. He is such a narcissist. He really thought he can walk away from this unscathed.

And it’s also for the same reason that college professors can’t have that kind of contact with their students even though the students are legally adults… and why managers/supervisors can’t be involved with employees in other places of employment. It’s not the age that’s important; it’s the power dynamic. The students and employees are in the position where they have little to no power and can be made to feel that they have no choice.
