Pausing the carbon tax on oil due to the great financial burden suffered while at the same time saying everyone is better off with this tax is probably the most blatant example of cognitive dissonance we've ever seen in regards to any public policy, not to mention that it has not resulted in any measurable positive impact on the environment. The older I get, the more I think there are simply no competent adults in our government.

At the end of the day “their price on pollution” hasn’t changed my family’s consumption. Why? Because I still have to drive to get groceries, and I still have to heat my home. The best way to describe how the liberals are trying to fix affordability crisis is: the captain of a boat that's filling up with water and is trying to stay afloat and get to the shore by a taking a bucket, filling it up with the water outside of the boat and dumping it into the boat. Then when the other passengers are screaming at him to stop putting more water in the boat, he turns to them and says "I'm going to continue work hard to deliver the safest boat ride out of the top 7 boats in the water."

Can a mortgage broker or banker explain this? If demand is still high and you offer 1st time home buyers $25,000 - would that not just mean that for any given house you have effectively raised the bid price by $25,000? Then, that new price will be amortized over a longer period (30 years) Then you will end up paying the BANKS more $$ in the long run? The only "winner" here seems to be the banks.
