Took wife's horse box for hgv MOT (platting) yesterday passed first time. Got to be the most nerv racking 1/2 hour of the year especially when he is tapping everything with his little hammer.

Door cards & lanyards ( if that’s what they’re called ) look really cool, & light up as well, well done on MOT, Could see the tension on your faces about MOT tester, he’s only doing his job at the end of the day, some are jobs worths on purpose, some are fair & lenient, some don’t give 2 Fuchs as long it’s all legit. excellent stuff,I always feel exactly the same on mot,but one thing I have is cos my crusader is ancient the testers dont know where anything is so they let me take it through,its very basic over engineered,theyre normally impressed and its never failed,type 30 chambers on all wheels and lockouts really do break the ice on the rollers

Scania Spring Eye Bushes. My mate bought a Clwyd Transport 8 Wheeler Scania. After doing them Twice in 2 years he fitted an Autolube. He never touched them again.

Tim for your 4 series just get a sort of bubbly with a bit of crackle sort of exhaust like nippers maybe get a open pipe from P2P truck style not too much noise and don’t fit tints just in case you get pulled over by VOSA

Idk if it was done but next time when hammering in a bushing make sure to put the bushing in the freezer so it gets cold (vold metals pull together so they get smaller in diameter and heat the other part so it can expand since warm medals tend to expans… therefor its essier to out in the bushin with less harm from hammer strikes

Do trucks not need steering wheel airbags then? If it was a car it would fail for steering wheel airbag removed, guess that rule must be different for trucks then?

My 4 series went through its MOT with Amber visor lights no problem, I think the trouble is there is absolutely no consistency in MOT testing, some will say the extra markers are OK some will say not etc. A friends Scania got failed for having those gylle markers because it made the vehicle wider! 🤦‍♂️🤣🤷‍♂️

Oh dear Tim, it's all gone 'Pete Tong' since your little encounter with DVSA/VOSA though, so your Jubilation was short lived! They are so annoying, the drivers in Europe can get away with straight pipes, but we can't...GRRRR, I used to be a recovery / transportation driver for a garage and used to take 50 litres of spare diesel with me on transportation jobs (as obviously it was cheaper for me to get it from the garage I worked for, and 'tanker it' rather than buy it on the drive) I got a tug by DVSA coming back from Edinburgh, needless to say they were not amused, and said it was a serious FIRE RISK! Last time I dropped a match into diesel IT PUT THE MATCH OUT!
