Will My Horse Eat A Bannana? 🤔

Legend is a food lover and eats about any treat I give him. I recently discovered some horses like bananas so naturally I wanted to see if Legend enjoyed them too? He definitely voiced his preference 😂 #animals #food #horse #equestrian

I would be asking a vet if giving the peel is such a good idea ,l don't reckon it is ,even a chickens stomach can't tolerate them .....they omit a load of gas as they ripen or digest .... colic can be deadly

​​​@@sonyahorne4624 The peel is fine. They have the proper enzymes in their stomach to break it down being herbivores. Chickens aren't herbivores. I probably wouldn't feed a ton of them but it's fine here and there. I don't generally waste bananas on horses anyway so when I do they can have the whole thing (If they'll take it)

Bananas are a top tier treat as far as my horse is concerned. I've even used them as motivation to get him to load into trailers. He also goes crazy for dates and grapes.

i tried giving my horse a banana and she was like "What is this?" 💀 she loves strawberries though. Edit: i gave her Watermelon and she loves it, she seems to only really like red things

All animals do. I have three very different cats - one outgoing, one who's a bit on the cool side to strangers, but if you pass the sniff test, you'll get a pass, one who is too old and crabby to care - she's 12 and really sweet when we are by ourselves, just don't mess with her treats or window pillows!! And the youngest, who is 3, is still crazy, but a total love bug. That's her nickname, too - Bug.

I used to have big achatina snails and they also had different food preferences. It is really surprising because they don't have brains (only something like a bundle of nerves instead), they are blind and deaf. Nature is so amazing

I had an Arabian stallion and he loved carrots, Granny Smith apples and wild blueberries. His face would be blue on the way back to the stable and he loved getting the hose right between his eyes. No matter where I pointed it, his face eventually got there. He was the funniest horse.

Any kind of a fruit that has a “stone” in it (or pit), like whole peaches, avocados, and cherries, can be dangerous for a horse, because they could choke on the pit. If your horse consumes any of these three things in excess, then it can lead to very bad gas and colic problems that could hurt them.

My standardbred horse loves bananas and even if she is the most polite around other horses she will get crazy jelous if she sees others even approaching the bananas. Others horses in the stable seem to be disgusted by them so she will have her special treats all by herself 😂

My pony loves everything he can get. His most favourite snack are actually bananas, clementines in winter and strawberrys in summer. But he really eats all the horse-save leftovers if I let him. His friend is way more pickier and didn't like bananas at first. Now he eats them too, as long as they are not too soft and sweet. But it also took a while to get him used to wet food like mash xD
