Thank you for this video. I am about 6 months locked and I started with length. I was like my hair is going to grow fast and like you I’m like is my hair shrinking. Frustrating but will trust the process.

thank you for this inspiration. This is my second set of sisterlocs. This time around my hair is thinner on the sides, and I have the back cut super sort so it's really in an awkward place. Can't do much with it at all, but I'm holding out hope!

Girl I FEEL U!! I have a similar story. I started my hair on armpit length hair thinking My locs were bouta be swanginnnn. And it just kept getting shorter and shorter and wouldn’t stop! LOL rude awakening! Now I’m almost 19 mos locked and it was like one morning I woke up and realized it was sitting on my shoulders, couple days later I realized I can put it in a low ponytail. I was like wow ok come thru length 🙌🏿🙌🏿 lol new subbie here. Thanks for sharing, peace and blessings

Your locs look great. My hair was maybe 1 inch when I started and in 2 weeks, my locs could go in a style. I guess sisterlocs take longer to grow as oppose to comb coils. Thanks for sharing. Stay blessed!

T onTheMove Sisterlocks take a moment to set and "mingle". That's what causes the shrinkage.

Thank you for this, it is very helpful. I'm about to hit one year. Instead of growth, I see thickness and mad shrinkages! It is bitter- sweet...almost aggravating.

I asked someone else this, it seems that sisterlocks grow up (meaning thickness) and then out (in length). Do you agree with this theory?

tlovespeaksss yes they do swell first which makes them appear to be shrinking. Then they drop in length.

Thanks for schooling me on the shrinkage cuz I thought my hair was getting shorter too but I see is growing but it was looking still short I'm at my 16 month

Omg i thought it was just me!! I'm 2 years and 7 months and just had a retight and everyone is telling me how long and quick my hair is growing. But i tell you now up to 2yrs i felt like nothing was happening

I felt a change at 10 mos. After a shampoo, they seemed to be hanging more and I was excited. I'll hit 1.5 yrs in January, so I'm curious to see what loc maturity will bring.
