Thanks for the update Bruce. We live in Candidasa but came to Sanur for New Year. When we get back, i will find out more about the oil spill and relay what i learn. We have very little sand as it is, we cant sfford to lose more.

@BrucePohlmann Hi Bruce. An update with the oil situation. To be honest, it seems it was a bit of a storm in a teacup to the locals here. Admittedly, we are at the eastern end of Canidasa, but nobody here was even talking about it. It is the western end, near sengkidu that all the big tankers and commercial boats tend to moor offshore, so we are further from them. I have heard that it has not been uncommon for small accidental spills to happen, and people just get on with life. It's unfortunate timing this occurred during Nataru, and is probably why it became more of a news story. It's a shame this happens, but there are many old looking ships moored there at times, so I am not surprised it happens.

HNY Bruce. Great place to view the local fireworks. I hope you had a nice nip or two to go with the scene. One thing I have always noticed about Candidasa is the slick of petroleum at various places along the foreshore depending on the wind. Been happening for a long long time. Great initiative for Nutritious meals. I would however like to know the macro, micro nutrient level of these meals. Lets see what 2025 will unfold to us all. cheers Bruce.

Thanks, Silvio. Yes, we get to see what the whole city is doing. It never gets old. A Korean friend was in Bali and brought me a bottle of this 58 proof liquor. I had a few shots. What a kick that has. The Pertamina depot came to mind first when I read the article. There is a new story out about some fraud problems with the meal program. Have to read it in a minute. Let's hope for a better 2025. Happy New Year.

@@BrucePohlmann Gosh 58, I hope it tasted OK as it would be harsh on the gut. My Everclear (USA) is 151 proof, I use it to make tinctures and special liqueurs from lemon and walnut, but I dilute it 50:50 and it is strong and its a bomb at 75. Go easy. Agree with the Perta depot and then there are many vessels transporting fuel in and out. Scary for sure.

Thanks Bruce and HNY! As for the North Bali Airport, Ibu Megawati's party retained control over the governorship of Bali, and she has in the past stated the project will happen over her dead body. I doubt we'll see groundbreaking any time soon.

I like Kertha Usada, Rainer. It's a bit worn, but we've always had good care there. My wife tells me that the construction that they were doing earlier in the year is done and the hospital looks much better. We'll be back for surgery in April so we'll see. Take care.

Yeah went fishing in Tulamben and whole boat covered in oil and my brand new PE8 Tasline on my rod is ruined , literally black! Not good at all 😢
