He has talked about a lot of things to solve Pakistan’s woes. Like every other person in Pakistan, he fails to recognize or call out the fundamental issue. There is an ideological flaw in the social fabric that will not let any of the ideas take shape. To make things worse, successive administrations have cultivated generations of people with aggressive, hate filled militant mindset. Hate only consumes the hater from within. BTW, this mindset of hate goes back more than a millennia, to view the “other” with suspicion, to hate the other. This was the foundation on which Jinnah and others asked for a separate Muslim state. Problems are much much deeper than most would like to understand or acknowledge.

So much wrong analysis. First of all, you cannot compare Pakistan to countries like Cuba, Argentina and Iran. There is a thing called false analogies. Their populations are miniscule compared to Pakistan, plus they have very high Human development compared to Pakistan. They have solid population and birth control policies which are absent in Pakistan. They can easily maintain their health and education sectors with less money because they are already very well established, whereas Pakistan has been trying to build them from scratch for decades with very little success. Iran has the ability to produce domestic energy because of their resources. Cuba has good relations with Venezuela for energy needs and other Latin countries for food and medicine shortages like Mexico. A lot of these countries have socialised and state planned Agriculture therefore price control is easy to maintain with no middle men and no profit motives to drive up prices. And do not bring up North Korea, this pariah state is one of the worst place on earth to live in. Do you guys really want Pakistan to end up like N. Korea? Secondly, this so called expert says the world would not let Pakistan collapse economically by suggesting the Pakistani economy has to much international exposure which could cause horrible ripples throughout the global financial system. This statement is completely false. Pakistan only contributes less than 1 percent of the global economy. Pakistan does not produce any unique export oriented products that the world cannot live without. Hypothetically, if Pakistan were to disappear from the face of earth, there are alternative countries, like those in Southeast Asia, where the disappeared Pakistani produced products could be produced more cheaply and efficiently in very little time e.g. Indonesia and Vietnam. Plus, Pakistani foreign debt is not that high that it would cause serious or any noticeable problems in the International Banking system. Also, the so called geopolitical importance of Pakistan is so overblown. China has energy alternatives in Central Asia and Russia which would bypass the Arabian Sea and the Gulf. The Chinese are not that silly to only depend on Middle East for Energy. Also, the US has recently been trying to distance itself from Middle Eastern energy by increasing their own domestic energy production and trying to normalize relations with Venezuela, the country that has the largest oil reserves in the World. Also the move of advanced economies away from fossil fuels to Green and Nuclear Energy will further decrease the so called geopolitical importance of the Middle East. Even the Middle Eastern countries know that their importance is diminishing and are worried. Their fossil fuel dependant economies do not have a bright future. Pakistanis are so delusional about their self perception of Pakistan being so important geopolitically. And Pakistan cannot blackmail the world by saying they have nuclear weapons. The West can easily make Pakistan give up their nuclear weapons for economic benefits, since Pakistan is so desperate, like they did to South Africa and Ukraine in the past century. If Pakistan refuses and still blackmails the world with nuclear threats, I believe the West has backup plans, which China will also probably support, to neutralize the nuclear threat. Don't be fooled, dear Pakistanis. Lastly, I really cannot not see any hope for Pakistan. Pakistan has an extremely low literacy rate which is probably even lower than what is reported. I have seen that the average Pakistan high school students have the comprehension and arithmetic skills of 6th graders in Germany or 4th graders in Finland or Japan. That is horrible. And these Pakistani high schoolers are plagued with religious and nationalist extremism. But I do not blame them, but the system. Women which make almost 50% of the population are mostly excluded from the education system and workforce. Seriously, how can you build an economy when close to 50% of the abled bodied workforce is excluded mostly due to social and religious norms? Pakistan is horrible at human development, with no socialized healthcare. Go lookup the list of countries arranged according the Human Development Index (HDI) and Pakistan is going more down, close to the poor sub saharan African countries. Again seriously, if Pakistan's economy collapses, how would you rebuild it when you don't have a physically healthy and educated workforce? As I said, I seriously do not see any hope for Pakistan. That being said, I am not an anti Pakistan person, or a Pakistanophobe. I really which Pakistan could come out of its misery, but I seriously can't find a solution. I am just telling the bitter reality. I see that Pakistanis are so much, unfortunately, delusional about their own state and how the outside world views them. This is so sad for a country with more than 220 million people. All I can see is societal collapse and the rise of religious fundamentalism due to people becoming more poor and God knows what is next to come. It happens almost everywhere, whenever people become poorer and more desperate, religious extremism rises. And believe it or not, an Islamic state is not the solution. A secular state is the best option where people and the state do not impose their religion on others, instead keep their religious affairs to themselves. And let me say it again, I don't wish any harm to Pakistan.

@@amitsharma-sy9re no It’s ok. In education honestly we don’t really talk about Hindus besides in Pakistan studies (which is a study of historical, partition and post partition events which can be significant and contributed in Pakistan movement and statehood) sometimes things written can be discriminatory towards our minorities and historically inaccurate. For example, if a Muslim ruler invaded 1000 years ago, does not mean you label him as a Pakistani and that Pakistan started from then. The academic and rational view would be to explain the evolution of Muslims in the subcontinent and the eventual core areas of the subcontinent, where Islam became the main religion. Which eventually resulted in the Pakistan movement and statehood. You can explain this from the first Muslim traders, settlements and invasions etc. Some Pak studies book do a great job, but others are more dogmatic. But I’ve learned over the years that people from the subcontinent are overly emotional. why give them an objective analysis when you can use jingoism and lies to have them in your palm? This ties back to our previous conversation that, we need education and an environment where critical thinking, technology and innovation thrives. I pray one day Pakistani elite realize they will make more money if the economy is 1 trillion dollars instead of 300~ ish billion dollars. I also hope one day the subcontinent has leaders which realize that South Asia must integrate into a regional bloc and especially end the Kashmir conflict in a manner where all sides at least accept it, even if they don’t like it. SAARC could have great potential if India and Pakistan can stop fighting
@amitsharma-sy9re2 жыл бұрын
@@muhammadhaque3448 Thank you for passing on the detailed information. It is good to teach about the country's history to every citizen( in your country, it is Pakistan studies). In general, Every writer has their own point of view to explain their history/concepts. Some writers put accurate points and some put inaccurate/derogatory points on religious/historical topics. In my opinion, instead of depending on the elite/rich groups of the country for development, the youth must take responsibility. Now the era is of technology. Neither society nor country can progress/develop with war/fight(World is filled with examples). The country is built up by society and society is built up by individual people.People/Country must have a vision of example for 5year/10year/15year goals etc. Education and System must be technologies driven. It is the only way to develop/progress society and country ( why I am emphasizing on technology that technologies can minimize corruption(corruption will never end, but it will there somehow) and an easy way to spread knowledge in the era of the internet). Anyone can learn easily anything without paying a single rupee. The world is seeing the tech startup era and many tech startups are solving societal issues( One more reason why I am repeating about tech, I am a software engineer from Bangalore, India. Working in one of the Top 5 Tech Gaint in the world. I have seen in India and witnessed that people are focusing on tech-driven education even in remote villages. For education, no need to be rich. Maybe rich people send their children to top-class schools and poor people are sending their children to govt schools. But, the Internet/youtube does not discriminate between rich and poor 😀😀. On Tech driven societies, can write many pages. But now put a full stop) Now coming to your points about the south Asian situation, Definitely SAARC countries have the potential for growth. In my opinion, conflict and development should keep in different buckets. When points come for development, we must be on the same page by keeping the conflict out of the fence and keep discussing how to solve the conflicts. I don't see any solution for Kashmir. in near future( Hope ki solve ho jaye by dialogue. Most Indians are got bored with the Kashmir conflict. Listening for many years😀). Why I am saying that if the Kashmir issue would not there, how politicians of both countries will sell hate and on which topic they will talk in public gatherings. How media will sell and spread hate between people. Bro, the Kashmir issue is the bread & Butter for politicians/Media of both countries. Why do you want to make them unemployed 😇. Media never show the reality of any news in any country.in world. They will show/talk only on those angles of news which gives them viewership. I have many evidences that both countries' Media fabricated the news ( I don't watch TV and don't believe news on social media. Social media is full of fake/fabricated news). Pakistan Media show only Muslim angles without knowing the fact ( most of the People like to watch only those angles) and the same applies to Indian media. Media and politicians are responsible for hate between countries. Sorry, reply went long. 🤪.. Hope you are doing good. Allah Haifz. Take care.

It is just us the helpless people who are crushing. We never got involved in politics and just tried lead an honest life in a difficult country. As much as our neighbors might be feeling happy, the commen citizen of Pakistan has nothing to do with dirty politics nor concerns with what happens at the border. We are living hand to mouth ourselves. Who will pay heed to those issues with a stomach that can go hungry any time? The culprits who brought us to this situation have nothing at stake. Most of them are dual nationals with billions of worth money and properties abroad. They don't have to blink an eye before fleeing off. Someone can come and blow us off the map of the world and it won't matter, we have been sucked dry by own rulers already.

WOW! Dr. Aslam, you seem to be one of the rare Pakistani intellects who has analyzed Pakistani economy through facts and wo bringing up emotional issues like Kashmir, Islam etc. like most Pakistanis do. And you have also given sound advise on how to improve the economy. Now, my only question is why are people like you are not running the country's economy.

He has counted so many problems of Pakistan , but to overcome & make correction will take decades. Pakistan has to do away with the "Kashmir " chant, Jihadi mindset & then hope for some progress to happen. Otherwise Pakistan will get fragmented under it's own implosion.

Sir in my opinion of the biggest reasons of the default would be 1) we dont tax corporations and all/most of our taxes are collected from Direct taxation i.e. on product/service consumption (we dont tax people on the basis of their salaries) 2) Having free trade agreement with countries like china that has destroyed our small industry 3) We dont trade with India instead we get Indian products through UAE and Saudi Arabia for 2/3 times more in price

About your first point, who said we don't tax people on the basis of their salaries??? I am a salaried person I pay a huge sum of tax, so did my father and my brothers do the same. You must not be coming from a salaried person background OR the company you work for is not registered properly therefore avoids taxes on itself and therefore on its employees. I have also worked briefly in such a company it was my first job and it was a small company (less than 12 employees). In fact I would say the salaried person is the one paying the most tax today. Factories and other corporations are avoiding taxes through one way or another but salaried man can't escape it, it is being cut from his/her salary. 😂 Secondly, it is true. We (and India as well) could benefit hugely from direct trade. There is so much India can take from us and so much we can take from them. This is very tragic that our political situation has always been so bad from the start and today it is at its worst. Trust me the common India man is filled with such hatred against Pakistan that he is celebrating the economic collapse and rise in terrorism in Pakistan. We can only hope these two countries will some day resolve their indifferences and get their shit together there is so much benefit for both countries. For heaven's sake they are direct neighbours and both have lots of resources to trade.

Feels good to see someone who can talk without bringing religion ten times in every statement. These are the kind of people who actually make the world run. The more the opium of religion is rears it head, the more the problem for a nation.

Pakistan's only problem is EXCESS POPULATION. By neglecting Small Family Norms for the last 50 years, over populated at least by 70 millions. All problems viz., High inflation, unemployment, black marketing because of this 70 Millions excess population.
