More than 100 armed groups are fighting government and regional troops in the mineral-rich area of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
5.6 million civilians have been forced to flee their homes in the past several years.
The United Nations reiterated its call for a political solution to the crisis after a high-level visit last week.
But regional efforts to stop the violence have been marred by mutual distrust and differences.
So, what does the future hold for this region and its people?

Various reports have documented DRC support of FDLR genocidaires which threaten Rwanda's security. Calling on Rwanda to stop the alleged support to M23 while ignoring the reasons that may drive Rwanda to support the rebel is not only unfruitful but also will only be a postponement of the crisis like it happened in 2012! Deal with FDLR you will deny Rwanda any reason to interfere with DRC matters. But are you willing?

Africa needs a dedicated defence force trained and armed to the teeth. Capable of fighting wars anywhere on the continent. Rwanda didi not activate M23 or formed M23 not at all M23 have been created by RDC and Some soldeirs (kinyarwanga speakers) who where discriminated in their military....and then they meet and make agreement on March 23!!!!The Genocider killed their families and they refused re-deployment with political told it was agreed to stay and the their chief where redeployed and killed in 2011. The existence of three communism, capitalism and socialism are the beginning and end of our problems and conflicts globally. The cold war that seem to have ended is in great strides in one continent where two forces are fighting communism (Russia, China) then Capitalism (Europe and America). All conflicts are linked to these extreme poles. Russia and China have dictatorship tendencies and authoritarian and totalitarian rule (nazism and fascism). While the west promotes capitalism, democracy. African leaders unfortunately are poised towards totalitarian rule, (Russia and China) rebels are leaning towards democracy and re sponsored by West (capitalists) the same forces in cold war and arms race which has always been historical challenges. Difference is they are fighting not in Europe but Africa.
