Outside of the NBA Media, people certainly appreciate Luka, Joker or Giannis. The American media, especially the ESPN will never admit Luka or Joker are there in the conversation being the *Face of The League.*

This is an interesting take. Because yeah i watch jokic, luka, giannis and I like them all. And basketball fans in my circle like them. But i often hear a bunch of hate/criticism in the media.

Jokic can't be the face of the league because he doesn't want to be. He doesn't have the personality for it. Being the faces of something is like being a spokesman and technically has nothing to do with skill. Allen Iverson was arguably the face of the league in like 2001 but he wasn't better than Kobe or Shaq but he was so influential that it's borderline undeniable. The NBA will push a guy as the face based both on talent and how influential they are.

Just imagine... next season: OKC has a crazy year with lots of injuries! Chet misses 25 games, J-Dub misses 22 games, J-Will misses 35 games, Joe misses 23 games, Wallace misses 24 games... For half the Season SGA has to deal with a depleted roster and constantly changing lineups around him. No stability in any aspect of the game, except SGA and his production. So what does he do? He plays his heart out averaging 34/9/10, while willing his team to 50 wins and the 5th seed! Producing some of the statisitally best games, and overall season in NBA history! On the other hand, Luka and the Mavs are the healthiest team all season, basically no injuries whatsoever. Every rotation player plays at least 70 games and the starting 5 starts over 60 games together. So Luka and the Mavs cruise to the 1st seed in the West, even if it is close. Cause the West overall is extremely strong with like a dozend teams having a pos record. What do you guys think... who wins the MVP?

I think Joker and Doncic have the same issues as Steph had. Steph wasn’t tall enough, joker and Doncic aren’t athletic enough. good take fellas, IMO just based off age & production... LUKA is already the best player in the NBA.... miles ahead of Lebron at this stage, although Bron got his team to the finals at 22. Luka a better scorer, passer, rebounder, & clutch player.

It is lazy to say that the MVP should be determined by the teams winning record. If Boston wins then they are the best team that year. If you switched players Doncic/Tatum and Boston won would Luka then be the MVP? Using team winning as the sole criteria is just a way to avoid the analysis needed to separate the players contribution to team success from the players individual worth, and for that we don't need media analysts to figure out the MVP, we can just anoint the best player on each winning team each year.

He has way more talent than Luka does. KCP already won a ring and is a starter on numerous teams in the NBA, is one of the best three-point shooters in the league and probably starts on 50% of the teams, and Gordon is a lottery pick Who should’ve won two slam dunk championships and is willing to do anything in the power forward position to win and is unconcerned about trying to be a star which everyone would love to have. Luca is playing with a journeyman, a guy who was one of the best players on a really bad team, and a rookie Center. Not even comparable.
