If you can make money on the Internet, by all means do, but the contract doesn't stipulate cashing in a good idea that would be better disemminated for the benefit of art and knowledge

Hi Rosie! I’m glad you didn’t add Posca details to the butterfly collage. It is perfect! One question for you is how you make certain your collages stay as they are when you’ve finished them? Do you seal them? How do you store them? Look forward to your next video. Best to you and yours. Lynn

I really like the one with the butterflies! Here are my questions for the Q&A: How do manage the amount of books and magazines that you use for collating? I have a whole room full of books that I collected just for collages and it keeps getting fuller but I can't put any away because they're all full of awesome images :D What's the best way in your opinion to organize cut out pieces?
@missyb.6233 жыл бұрын
I agreed with your choices of which pictures should have doodling 😉 I imagine this is a fun hobby? I think you mentioned once what you do for a living? You also do embroidery, I think? ??

Thank you for the opportunity to ask something. I would like to know how much collage stuff do you actually have? (Books, Magazines, Scaps, Papers, Tools...) I think after you're moving it's less then before. And where do you store your finished collages? Thank you for your content and all the best from the german baltic coast.

1. You are so freaking real! It's awesome. 2. I wasn't really behind the doodle idea either BUT you're a natural! The things you added are adorable, other than the ship. 😆 You're so freaking talented with a great eye. It's fun watching you create. You're the only artist I'll actually watch create from beginning to end and I probably subscribe to 200 channels. Many blessings.

That was so much fun. Your process is yours. Don’t change unless you are comfortable because you do college so well. The red car on that page looks like a ‘Red Jammer Bus’ from Glacier National Park in Montana. Look them up the have quite a history plus very fun to ride. I use Posca Pens, but even after one use, you do it better than I do after many many uses. You have heard the saying ‘less is more’? It is interesting how watching a collage artist doodle a lot and with each addition I think no it is just fine how it is and then I say wow the piece just got more fun. That’s actually what happened when you started doodling the jump rope girl. It is just two different styles. Your YT channel just popped up on my feed and so glad it did as you are a joy to watch.

I totally get the fear factor. Every time I think I will try something new I have to do a "this is just practice" piece using supplies I don't really care about. I think you made the right decision on the car piece. I think doodling would have been too disruptive. Do you always back your finished pieces with cardstock or mat board? How do you store them? And, just to be extra nosy, what do you do for a living? Love your videos and your collages. I look forward to Thursday every week.

Are you an artist full time? Your imagination is endless. Do you come up with ideas ahead of time and ponder them a while. I do but I ponder too long and dont do anything. Thanks for sharing yourself with us once a week. I look so forward to it!!

I used a fine tip metallic gold and drew in twigs on a bird's nest which was awesome. Then I was brave enough to add more delicate additions to eyes, flowers, fabrics, and butterflies. I've only used fine and x-tra fine tips in gold, siver, white, and black.That is as brave as I have been and I love this addition to my collages. Can't wait to see how you use them.

Those are both great! I have some questions. What is your art background? Did you study it or are you self-taught? How long have you been collaging? When did you start doing the surrealism?

I would have been upset if you had doodled on the ‘butterfly watchers’ too. Haha. Not bad, but it would have killed the cute vibe going on in it I think. You will enjoy the Posca pens Rosie. They are great.

I am so happy you left your collage as is. I love my Posca pens but I feel it turns my art to look more like graffiti which I do like in my collages but not in my surreal art. My question: How do I get rid of the bubbles under the pieces I glue down? I use a Uhu glue stick. Love your channel! ❤❤❤

Nice save on the UFO! I use baby wipes (unscented, fragrance-free CVS brand) for quick swipes off. I also use Golden's Matt medium to adhere my collages down and coat the pages. Poscas wipe right off without damaging the paper.

Rosie, I understand your fear of doing something new. What about making a color photocopy of the finished collage and then doodling on the copy as practice? I make collage art journals that I use paint, markers, etc. on. It's a great way to practice with no pressure. If the page turns out nice-great! If not, move on to the next. I'm wondering if you've ever done abstract collages? That might be fun to try in a video.

You can always just do a 'touch' with the poscas! I thought you could cut and make more of a curve of the sharp corners of the road. I have been doing collage similar to yours but more 'realistic'. So much fun! Keep the butterfly one as is-it's so great! Ps. I use fine tip markers as needed to blend an edge or add a bit but only to blend in. xo, Denise

Hi Rosie! I really enjoy your channel and collage style. I think you'll like the Posca Pens. I've used them since 2016 in my collage art journals. I tend to maximalize their usage in my magazine collages...a bit overboard! I followed Teesha Moore for a few years and was influenced by her style of mixed media collage. You can see a flip-through of that art journal on my channel. It is the first video that I posted. Thanks for sharing!

I agreed with you not to doodle on the Butterflies collage... But the girl skipping was a fun one... I think the poscas would detract from the surrealism of your pieces so I'm not sure if you would need to be more selective when you use them... Love the space feel in these that's fun. 😁😁 Q: what elements of a collage tends to strike you first, is it mainly the focal or is it the background idea?
@papabear25152 жыл бұрын
Are there particular magazines and books ( or other resources for images) that you feel are “must haves” for you and your art? I, too, would be interested in seeing how you organize/sort/easily find the images you’ve cut/saved. This is a big challenge for me. Thanks!

Hello Rosie. I am just starting (thanks to you 😀) using pictures from books and magazines for collage. Would you have any info or thoughts about copyright? Thank you! Joanne
@helenfatharly63822 жыл бұрын
Thanks Joanne for asking this question. I like to do the “right” thing and I have tried to find a definitive answer. I have read so many articles regarding this and I STILL can’t work out what the “rules” are.

@@helenfatharly6382 Hello Helen. It’s a tricky subject. After some research on google. Think one important thing is to not use 80% of the image. But I am new to all this. And if collages are not for sale, there is no problem at all. For my part, I tend to use part of images, no recognizable faces, no company’s name, etc.

Firstly, thanks for your entertaining channel 😍 I hope my question for you makes sense...Sometimes you choose an image or a background that I would completely disregard in a flip through, but you see something in it. What's that magic element you see? Is it colour, composition, movement, or all of the above??? Look forward to your Q & A video ❤

Just started following your channel so not sure if you have done the Q&A video yet! My question was do you know where one stands with collage and copyright issues. I am a person that likes to do the right thing and I am finding it hard to find out a definitive answer to this when reading about it. For example if one were to sell the collages does that then become a copyright breach rather than just for personal use? Or if you write down where the image comes from, which would NOT be an easy task, and would make it a tiresome task instead of a fun one does that cover it? I would be so grateful to hear your take on this.
