That is a very myopic and naively utopian viewpoint, in all honesty. People love certain animals more than others, that's how life works. I personally don't view a cow on the same level as a dog or a cat. I know that cow doesn't give a crap about me, but the dog or cat expects me home. Plus, a piece of lean meat has more bioavailable nutrients than plant-based foods in the same quantity. If you think your diet is more ethical, try researching how many animals die in soybean fields. It isn't any better, and it's way worse than getting meat locally.
