Well, can say there’s definitely one hater here he’s converted. Not to say I ‘despised death metal’ or whatever, I listened to metal since I was 7, I know what it’s like, death metal was just too much to be my thing when I was a teenager (and obviously no one liked it that I knew, so that was a factor). But since I’ve rediscovered my love for metal, found a bunch of bands, and found an appreciation for Will’s unparalleled talent (imo), I regularly listen to some Lorna Shore. Mostly Hellfire, Nothingness, Suneater, and Pain Remains, but I’m into it a decent amount, thanks to this guy and his passion.

My issue is Deathcore is mainly that a lot of breakdowns ruin the flow of really good songs. Dancing in Flames is an amazing song because its melodic/has great pacing/flows really well/great lyrics ect ect. It could be argued its a blackened melodic death metal track. I think they're a great band, but I much prefer their tracks without breakdowns.. Panteras breakdowns/slams whatever you want to call it work really well for me.. so perhaps its the heavier style with them that doesn't work.. Not sure.. but loving hearing each of their new tracks.

I'm 50 yrs old and I've seen and been into a lot of metal bands that have come and go. And I see some of them that are still active (some should hang it up) and I'm still stuck in those eras. But after hearing Will's interviews, I pulled myself out of that a little. I actually heard Will's interviews before I even started to listen to Lorna Shore lol. I had heard of the band prior and started checking out their live shows first and was like meh. Death metal was apart of my listening to arsenal and other metal bands but never really cared for any 'core' bands. I tried and was like, this stuff is horrible. Gojira is one of my favorite bands and they had Lorna as one of their openers. So I checked out the To The Hellfire video and then I was hooked. I also got into some of these other 'core' bands. I guess an old dog can learn new tricks. Will and Adam are awesome dudes and wish them all the best in the world.

We already have too much bass sampling and I've even seen Deathcore bands playing without a bassist altogether. Other than that, I'm all in for the inclusion of elements from other Metal genres: get a thrashy solo, black metal double bass/tremolo picking, etc. Also, I'd love to see the symphonic bits played live with either an orchestra or at least a keyboardist.
