Well, thats mainly because arca was able to use Them well in his Aylin deck.

Watch out for Nykthos Paragon only triggering once per turn :) Slightly less infinite, still very strong

7:03 Arca lost three life for swinging three creatures at Matt to draw three cards with tymna but that is incorrect usage for Tymnas ability as she reads number of opponents who were dealt damage.

Those draws weren’t all from Tymna. Tymna accounted for one, Gix accounted for the other two. Three creatures attacked one person, one was blocked. Tymna draws one for an opponent being damaged, Gix draws two for two creatures connecting.

2 of the triggers were from gix since 2 of arca's creatures connected with Mat, and 1 was from tymna.

Mat's deck synergised quite well with arca's since it was also a main lifegain deck when arca's used Gix's ability on him

that is because it is targeting a creature, if it was a noncreature, nonland permanent it would have been cheaper to cast
