Yes indeed, Denny was an incredible musician and a great friend as well. We lost him in April this year, and I really miss him. Austin is a colder and less musical place without him.

So glad you did, this is amazing! So good to see my friends up there on that stage( though I didn't meet them till a couple or few years later, but this show was part of the reason I wanted to meet them!). The guitars are great and WC on bass and Frosty on drums is a cool rhythm section. I shared a version of this with a high school buddy/bandmate of Denny's, and he sent me this one back. Even better! What other Austin/ Freeman stuff do you have? I'm looking at doing an archive and history on my friend Denny and am interested in source material.

Terrific cover of the Barbara Lynn Ozen hit (The Rolling Stones also made the song popular). Barbara Lynn is terrific, also wrote, "You'll Lose A Good Thing;" digging Lou Ann Barton's vocals!

The Stones didn’t steal it, they covered it and gave full credit to Barbara Lynn. She will have earned more in royalties from their version than her own.

1989. This is part of the Austin City Limits show that was W.C. Clark's 50th birthday party. The other part of it was Stevie Ray Vaughan's second and final performance on ACL. The show was originally broadcast the week Stevie was killed in 1990, in a helicopter crash.
