They instantly knew I was in shock, called my husband as I went to hospital in ambulance, gave me the number to an attorney & put me out of work on Worker's Compensation! What I like about comedians is that, the good ones at least, bear their soul on stage every night. Actors are the opposite. They learn to portray characters and use that skill to act like they have character in real life. And, sure enough, when a little heat was applied to the actor, his façade crumbled. Chris Rock is a talented comedian, he tailored the joke and since it was on a sensitive issue. GI Jane is a film about a strong woman who proves she is mentally tough enough for the military. It was a bald joke, but it had a very straight forward compliment and worked in it to soften the blow.
