I totally agree with you on the free speech part…but because we have free speech that doesn’t mean you don’t have consequences for what you say. I’m not saying Will was in the right here I’m just saying maybe it built up to this moment and he snapped. I would have been way more on Will side of the story was “after the Oscars Smith and Rock got in a fight in the parking lot” cause at that point to men can try and settle the issue vs Chris rock not being able to really respond in anyway!

@@ashleyhayden7054 I see what you are saying. I think though and this Oscar situation probably isn’t a good example. But I know myself and other guys who have taken something said about there wife/gf and acted irrational. We have a genetical response to defend that sometimes in the wrong moment can be used poorly. And I’m not saying that is ok, we all have to learn to control it and only do it when necessary.

“Consequences” would have been Will Smith getting arrested for battery, and not being able to accept his award. Instead, Smith got a standing ovation and an extended amount of time to deliver his acceptance speech in which he describes himself as a “vessel of love.” One of the main reasons it was so weak of Smith to slap Chris Rock is that ihis reaction had very little to do with the joke. It was misdirected anger & “a final straw” sort of thing which unfairly targeted Rock. Also, there’s a lot of evidence that Smith & Jada have an extremely dysfunctional relationship in which Jada controls and Will is codependent. Pretty sad.

Yeah, he definitely didn't know it was coming. You'd have to be Dwayne Johnson kinda big to have the confidence to put both your hands behind your back and stick your face forward when another grown man walking up on you like the Mafia. lol He did take that hit like a champ though; it was one hell of a pimp smack. :D I fee like Chris was going to say something like, "I could... ... make you disappear brah." I agree with you though. It's hard to say if it's right or wrong. In one hand, you making fun of his wife's disease so it's deeper than just a normal joke, but he also looked like he thought it was genuinely funny; hard to fake that joy in his eyes from the joke, especially if you were enraged by it. As you said though, he got the look. lol Personally, considering Chris Rock is a comedian and you're both celebrities, you could have just talked to him afterward and come to an understanding or hit him if he doesn't want to. Not like it was a random on the street talking shit. Will probably like, "If I don't smack him, I'm going to lose half of my shit." Considering he could have punched him instead, there's at least some restraint there, but as you know as a man also, that's also more disrespectful than being punched. A slap is basically being hit while being called a bitch also. :D
