He was very aware of the fact that Robin Williams was an amazing Genie and he couldn't match his version. He did his own thing and didn't even attempt to copy Robin Williams version and you can tell he has respect for him and wanted to honor him by doing a good job. Which added pressure. When I heard about the remake I was expecting one of the Genies from the broadway show to take the part because that way there wouldn't be any worry about someone trying to remake Robin Williams Genie. He did his thing and I knew based on the previews he was doing a Fresh Prince thing which seems to have worked in his favor so happy that this choice worked out.
