Will the 700r4 work with LS 5.3 Swap? TV cable adjustment. Manual Valve Body

I did a 6.0 LQ9 in my S10 and used the original 700r4. I built a bracket to hold the TV cable at the correct height and angle to the throttle body so that the cable would be fully extended at WOT and start moving as soon as the throttle is cracked. The cable pull bracket on the throttle body was a little tricky to get the ratios correct but it drives like a stock truck at low throttle input and gets serious with heavy throttle. It still wont rev out to 6500 rpm without manually shifting but drivability it great.

I have a '96 S10 4x4 v-6 5 speed manual trans & t-case, runs great but I would be happy with just a 5.3ls, but can't seem to find anyone converting manual 4x4 S10. I did a 5.7 in a zr2 Blazer, but making the radiator, steering and exhaust - headers with arm between the pipes, then adding the fuel injectors wires and reflashing ecm was just a pain. Plus oil pan. I was getting paid for that, this is my own. A customer is buying a crate 6.0ls3 to put into his full size GMC Jimmy (k5) 480HP. His has the 700r4 rebuilt but I think he's uping to a 4l80e. The crate engine is $10k. with harness, power st. pump, a/c pump, alternator serpentine belt setup

Shouldn’t the full manual valve body keep the pressures at max at all times, eliminating the need of the tv cable?

I also have a 5.3 with a 700R4, and yes that tv cable was crazy, but we did it and it shifts extremely well,, - I have a 77 C10 1/2, and she is doing it with the 700r4, which I already had that in my truck for over 10 years, and didn't think/know at that time when I got the 5.3 to also replace the trans,,, when this goes out I will, I would like to connect with you to talk about it,, 700r4

I am getting a 5.3 with dbc. I have a th350 right now in my 85 shortbed it isn't the original guy said it was from jegs. I want to put a 700r4 in the truck. Thanks for the info.

What throttle body do you have and did it come with the tv cable slot below throttle cable or did you fabricate it? Also what tv cable and throttle cable brackets are those thanks love the channel.

I'm standing here looking at my just ordered 5.3 450 ho from summit...I have a 87 grand national 700 r4. I'm putting a intake and carb setup on it...I'm wondering what stall to go with ?? I have a gn but it's a 3500 stall.,.was thinking I should save it for when and if I get a turbo...it's all going in a 68 C10....bf on the tag on trans is a gn trans... supposed to be good 450 hp....any input on converter size....thx

In a gn you should have a 2004r transmission which is better than a 700r4 ...IF you build it up a 2004r you will be better off from what i hear

I have the same trans in my 91 yj with k5 blazer drivetrain don't know the year. My questions are. What have you done about reverse lights and torque converter lock up

No reverse lights and it was a full body manual valve body.
