i have been using this riser although in a different brand for a 8 months now.It has been through a national tournament and an indoor club tournament,in which i got gold.Not much adjustibility and it is a chinese rebrand bow.In some manual it read that it is not recommended for more than 30lbs,and i feel like that is true since it go out of tune quite frequently since i up the poundage to 36lbs.But it is beginner friendly and for someone who just started it is a great choice.

I got this riser with 40# limbs, Im used to shooting this on my bare bow, Lancaster didn’t have a weight limit and claim it as high performance. Do you think I’ll need a better riser for 40#?
@Australian_Made11 ай бұрын
I own the same. It is not cast aluminium. It is magnesium for light weight.

OK it's great you are covering a relatively new product but very little about this video really gave much feed back on the riser other than some simple positive comments. How does it compare to other risers in it's price range? What are it's issues with weight, vibration, build quality, features, finish, balance and stability.

I may be wrong, But I don't think there is another Riser in the market in the Crescent's PRICE RANGE, unless you consider non ILF options

I just bought the SAME COLOUR Crescent Riser too, but I got Left Handed. In my experience, I got 'unrefined' Main Stabilizer Bushing thread and Top Stabilizer Bushing thread. {the Bottom was in great as-to-be-expected condition}. These 2 Bushings / INSertS need a blast with a 5/16 -24 TAP :-( Another thing I discovered after purchase was that it has extremely narrow area BELOW Button-HOLE. So that my NAP FLIPPER REST II cannot fit on this riser. I have ordered new midas rest which looks like very narrow requirement BELOW Button HOLE.
@wayne2wax6 жыл бұрын
Lancaster Archery Supply really looked after me ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ they sent out a replacement Crescent to me. ----> International shipping one week to AUstralia, and didn't even ask me to send that first one with the bogged down threads [on 2 INSertS] back to LAS. ^ ^ ^ ^ My Paint finish on BOTH Risers is amazing for an $80 ILF Magnesium Metal RISER: wow!

I ordered an ARROW REST and I am waiting for it to arrive (Midas MX Rest) I have fitted ALL my accessories, and it feels great !! I have only 'plucked' the string a few inches, but vibration is LOW. (I bought 24# W&W Axiom+ limbs) I've filed the rest a tad to suit me, and it's really comfortable. I do believe the bow is GOOD and is a fine foundation.

im looking at this but its magnesium and that worries me as far as strength wise i want to have the option to slap 40lbs on it if i want to
@shoreshotarchery2 жыл бұрын
Personally 40lbs is pushing it for a magnesium riser. Most magnesium risers are recommended for no more then 30lns range. I believe they where saying this one can do 40lbs. But that is pushing it. You would have to spend more, but for the piece of mind and safety. You can get an aluminum riser

@@shoreshotarchery thanks for the reply... im a new to Olympic recurve im having a hardtime deciding on bow riser i believe im going with kinetech vygo im wanting to shoot bare bow and traditional type .are they more retailers in the usa than Lancaster ? thanks and great video
@shoreshotarchery2 жыл бұрын
@@blackriflex39 Lancaster is the big one for barebow and Olympic recurve from my experience. Must archery manufacturers sell through Lancaster Archery. You could check out you local bow shop and see if they have any bow recommendations. The Kinetic Vygo looks like a good riser to get you setup for barebow or Olympic

@@shoreshotarchery what draw weight would you suggest i start with im a 39 year old 6 foot 180 lbs draw length of 28.5
@shoreshotarchery2 жыл бұрын
@@blackriflex39 25 to 30 pounds is a good start. It's more important that you learn to shoot properly then pull big weight. Once you get your form down you can start to increase weight if you wish. That weight range is plenty for 18m or 20 yards. I have been shooting archery since I was 12 and I am now 30. Too much drawl weight to early holds back a lot of archers. I personally shoot 46 pounds but 17 yo me shot 54 pounds. I out shoot 17 yo me and have better form (more enjoyable, shoot for hours at 46#) But ask around. I am sure Lancaster Archery will give you a recommendation on drawl weight

What distance from the riser should the limb bolts be when attaching the limbs? The owner’s manual says 21mm, but that seems way too high to me.
@shoreshotarchery2 жыл бұрын
That sounds pretty far out. The limb bolts need to be a minimum of 4 full turns into the riser.

Would someone be able to compete using this specific bow set up or would you say the bow is too inaccurate?
@shoreshotarchery6 жыл бұрын
You can compete using this bow and the accuracy of it is more dependent on the archer shooting the bow the then bow itself.
@coreylester17146 жыл бұрын
Shore Shot Archery so if the accuracy is based on the shooter what’s the difference between the Galaxy Crescent and the Hoyt Alero (Sorry if this is silly but I’m new to archery)

It looks like a rebranded junxing bow, which where i am right now you can get for 285 usd, but with a microadjustable sight, arrow rest, limbs, bow string, bow stringer, decent finger tab, arm guard, and six carbon arrows. Gotta be careful with what you buy, some people just rebrand it and upsell you.
