Will the Pride Male Be Accepted as a Coalition Partner?

Thank you Matt for this wonderful video. It’s amazing to see Mandevu getting more handsome each time we see him! And he has definitely won back his confidence with good-looking Nzuri at his side. What a wonderful coalition they have formed! It is healing my sorrow of losing Ncile, whom I dearly loved and had prayed for for countless hours after he had been found in the snare that almost cost him his life! What a long way of recovery it was for him! What makes my heart jump in joy today is especially seeing the young Mbiri Male in such good condition and to even hear him roar! We have seen him as a little cub the first time and then after that several more times. I just had a look at my captures of him! He has always had a serious look on his gorgeous face! It is not clear whether he is Mandevu’s or Ncile’s youngster as he was, from what I would say looking at my photos, conceived before Ncile’s snaring happened. In my heart I’d like to believe he is Ncile’s boy, but of course, it doesn’t matter! Red Road might be my favorite Lion of all times, but I dearly loved and still love the Tintswalo Males. It is assumed that Red Road and Mandevu are half brothers, sharing their mighty dad! You made my day with that video, Matt! Thanks a lot. Can hardly wait for next time!

Will the young male get a name also? Whether he joins them or not, I think he deserves a name. Also, why is it that only the males on Tintswalo have names, while the females do not? Or do they have names, and I just haven't heard them yet? The females do all the hard work imo lol. They should have names. The adult females I mean :)

They don't do "all the hard work." The males have to go on constant, massive territorial patrols, without assistance, in order to ward off predatory threats to their pride, and especially, other roaming male lions. They get in fights frequently as a result, or have solo run-ins with things like buffalo. Also, the pride doesn't take down buffalo without the involvement of the males, usually. Male lions take a beating during their lives.

We don't gotta agree ☺️i didn't say they were lazy and aren't fighting just to survive from the second they are born. They do lead hard lives. I don't disagree with you about that. But again, in MY opinion, the females work the hardest to provide for the whole pride! And have you seen the Nkuhuma pride?? Those lionesses are Queens! They bring down buffalo quiet often without any males. Just the females! They are magnificent lionesses!

RRM is my favorite also so I understand how you feel. But have you subscribed to this channel and chosen ALL Notifications?! He has been featured on this channel several times with his Pride. South Africa is a Huge Place with several Prides. They're not going to find him on command. Good luck 👍🏻🐾🐾

Interesting how the pride has accepted this new lion, Nzuri, when you remember how they treated Ncile after his injury. Ncile was the dominant lion so the young male should be his. Our new host really has proven to be excellent, thanks for showing us the other smaller animals Matt. Mentioning that injury, could you tell us about the parks policy for intervention on the animals please? I remember Alistair, a few years ago telling us but for the newer audience , reading the comments, it would be helpful.

Nzuri was born in the Mbiri pride, son of 1/2 Matimba daughters and 1/2 Orpen Male, Jr Nkuhuma ( making so Matimbas are his grandfathers on both sides of the family ). He is Mandevu's younger half-brother/cousin.

The three 🦁 males despite of different ages are all superb ! It would be really a great thing if the sub-adult could stick to the adults and become the third member of the coalition, all what needs the pride... good and strong protection ! ❤ 🙏 Nice video and comments as often !👍

But all three are from this pride, so not ideal (genes) for them to stay with Mbiri pride. Forming a coalition of 3 would be rather beneficial for each of them, especially the youngest one.

The second male (blond mane) and younger is a partner coming from a different pride (Orpen male) and finally the sub-adult could be Mandevu's son or one of his brothers son N'cila who has suddenly vanished...😢

@ If I recall correctly, young Orpen (now Nzuri?) has a father from the Orpen pride, but was born in Mbiri pride. It would also be very strange for a lion cub to be adopted by a different pride. So all 3 have mothers from the Mbiri pride, thus mating with mothers and sisters is what it is - not good for offspring's genetics. Or do I have wrong information?

@@hotbit7327 Mandevu the older male was leading the pride with two brothers who died due to bovine tb if I remember for one and disappearance for the other one (N'cila)... A few months after N'cila disappeared, the younger Orpen male now called Nzuri has joined Mandevu and the pride accepted him, Nzuri came as already an adult. The sub adult male could be the son of Mandevu or his brother N'cila, who knows...

Everybody says that the younger son is not mine Devon‘s. It’s his brother‘s. He’s the one that was around more. If you gotta remember me, Mendel was gone a lot. His brother is the one was the one that was around a lot so for the not the youngest youngest cub, the one that’s like two years oldyeah so we do believe that’s his son and but it’s also believed because that’s his brother the devil was his brother at his son too

I think here soon they should get swimming the youngest a name because he’s right under Missouri. I don’t know why, but it looks a lot. I can’t see who because he’s missing now. It hurts to say it. I loved him so much. She know So Endeavor and Devon brother I I think I’m saying this wrong but anyway I think that’s his son. He looks so much liking and he act just liking he is very brave.
