This strategy handicaps your team so much, but it makes sense. You have KD so you try your hardest to win now and figure it out later. They just created the finals team through the draft. Plus if you draft a guy who contributes immediately they have more trade value.

Edy is moving just outside the lottery with his performance in the tournament. He may be too big and slow for the league today but his numbers move him up the draft board. Tyler kolek, devin carter or kel'el ware would be perfect plug and play guys for this team.

I want to see the logic in their plan but it's already proven to be a failure. We are old as shit, injury prone and the wolves led by a younger star absolutely wooped our older stars asses. The thunder are a young team built through the draft and they could still win the west, they are led by a young pointguard that could win league mvp. Those two teams beat us easily and our older stars ran out of gas . Gerald is absolutely delusional if he thinks after our humiliating sweep that we are still a top free agent destination. Also, our big three will be that much older and worn down. Nba players don't suddenly get better with age. Next year i can see denver, minnisota, oklahoma city, sacramento and utah overtaking us. We are NOT in the title hunt right now and definitely not if we choose to run it back with the same roster while choosing not to address our problems. Also, the only way we are adding any great players is if we trade durant or booker. The reality of this makes what ishbia and jones are planning to do redundant. We can keep our core and still add a backup pointguard in the draft and or a power forward or backup center behind nurkic at a cheaper cost. There is no free agent that we can afford under the second apron that will help us win a playoff series. Us just winning a playoff series is also redundant and it's not the vision that this front office sold us as an unstoppable superteam that were definite title contenders. Nobody with rational thinking is buying ishbia's or jones's damage control deflecting lies of this team being in a great position. And by the way, the stepien rule was created for gm's like james jones so they couldn't destroy a team's future . Keep trading all our picks and assets so we can hope to sign burnt out vets like eric gordon or guys we will eventually trade away because we thought they would be impact players off the bench. Sadly, i can see us being even more worn down, injury prone and can see us missing the playoff next year with disgruntled players and no picks to add youth, athleticism, depth and energy. I hope i'm wrong about all out it and they defy reality and make a legit title run and win, but i saw cause for concern all the way back in october with the injuries and careless attitude by our big three. I had doubts about two pure iso scorers forced into a facilitator position and they struggled all season . Lastly, i didn't think we really deserved to be a playoff team the way we played all season and wondered why we thought the wolves were a dream opponent for us when they are strongest at all our most vunerable points. I was right about the isdues this team had all season and because of james jones's ego they were never fixed. Next season will be much worse if we Don't fix our very visible roster and positional issues. I mean can we really trust someone in the gm role that claimed he would be the one to unlock an aging durant's true potential . A durant that already is an all- time great player and hall of famer and came to phoenix already winning multiple championships. But yeah, james is so brilliant and such an incredible gm that he will be the reason that durant somehow reaches much higher levels at the end of his career. Jones is out of his mind delusional. He's trying tp change the entire game of basketball not so the suns can win a title but to prove he can do something that's never bern done in league history. It's all about his ego and getting the attention on him. Every team in the league is praying we'll gamble on running it back. Defensively, they've already solved how to defend this team. The fans were told time and again just be patient, we are building a contender. Did anyone , any real phoenix fan come away this season feeling that this team did great , the coach did great, that we exceeded expectations and are in geeat shape moving forward? I didn't but that's because i live in reality, homerism doesn't exist for me. When i see a team that can realistically win a title i will show real belief and enthusiam, not some delusional fantasy . Once again, we need a pointguard, power forward and athletic, shotblocking backup center. Until we add these things to the roster we are a lottery team just missing the playoffs.

Mavs starting center last season was Dwight Powell (backup centers Wood and Mcgee). Total disaster. And what Mavs ( Nico ) did. They drafted Lively ( 20yo rookie) and in trade line they get Gafford ( 25yo ). 2 great young centers in one season. Jones and Mat would probably go and try to buy great ( but old and very expensive) AD ( for example) in that situation.

I like how you make it sound like we're all good with still having picks swaps in those alternating years but intentionally don't expound on the fact of how as a 2nd apron team, due to corresponding penalties starting next summer, those picks will be moved to the very last pick of that round every year while a 2nd apron team! You also don't choose to mention the perceived trade value of having the very last pick in drafts as opposed to better ranges. Pretty disingenuous and smug to portray our pick situation as being ok or even good knowing those details but omitting them continually. Nash will always to me is better than CP3, Nash basically played the spurs DOLO, horrible owner, no amare, dude went toe to toe, with boris diaw and raja bell, shawn marion couldnt hit a open jumper, nash BLEEDING OUT HIS NOSE, played. Nash in his prime is ahead of cp3, cp3 overall nba years makes him more accurate pick. Based on heart and prime gaming, nash showed up. The Suns are probably in the worst position in the league now. All in on a championship but with a 0% chance of winning that championship. The worst contract in the league in Beal, a superstar in decline in KD, and the face of the franchise with no leadership skills in Book. I'm sorry Suns fans but it's going to take at least a decade to recover from this ... with a lot of grief in between.
