Taiwan is essentially a card that the United States plays. In other words, Taiwan is like China's Achilles' heel - something the U.S. can squeeze from time to time to make China pay a price. However, the U.S. will neither let Taiwan become independent nor allow it to unify with China, as neither outcome serves American interests. The U.S. understands the value of being able to squeeze your Achilles' heel whenever necessary.

U.S. has also invaded or bombed dozens of countries and supported nearly every single right-wing dictatorship in the world since the end of World War II. It has overthrown or attempted to overthrow dozens of foreign governments since 1949 and has actively sought to crush nearly every single people’s liberation movement over that same period. It has also meddled in scores of elections, in countries that are allies and adversaries alike.

Unfortunately, not all of us were financially literate early. I was 35 when I finally educated myself and started taking steps. I went from $176,000 in debt with zero savings or retirement to now, 2 years later, fully debt-free and over $1000,000 net worth. I know that doesn't SOUND like a lot, but I'm incredibly proud of it. Now l'm fast-tracking my wealth building (investing $400,000 annually) and don't owe a dime to anyone. It's a good feeling.,,

@@Likeqiang20China has not fought a major war in 40 years and has not fired a bullet across it's borders in 30 years. This lack of military reflects both a powerful civilzational impulse and a deeply pragmatic view of power. Having carefully refrained from using military options for over 4 decades, the Chinese are genuinely bewildered by the American portrait of China as an inherently aggressive, militaristic, and expansionist power. Americans enjoy lecturing Chinese to be "more like us". Perhaps they should be more careful what they wish for. Historically how have emerging hegemons behaved? To be more specific, how did Washington act just over a century ago when Theodore Roosevelt led the US into what he was supremely confident would be an American century? In the decade that followed his arrival in Washington, the US declared war on Spain, expelling it from the Western Hemisphere and acquiring Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippines; threaten Germany and Britain with war unless they agreed to settle the disputes on American terms: supported an insurrection in Colombia to create a new country, Panama, in order to build a canal; and declared itself the policeman of the Western Hemisphere, asserting the right to intervene whenever and wherever it judged necessary -- a right it exercised 9 times in the 7 years TR's presidency alone

A former American ambassador to China and Singapore, his name is Stapleton Roy. He said before at the meeting between Xi Jinping and Obama, Obama raised the subject of South China Sea. Obama asked Xi Jinping that "why are you being so assertive?" And Xi Jinping told Obama that "Okay, if you think this is a problem, why don't both of us agree to delilitarise the South China Sea? Neither China nor U.S will set up military facilities in the South China Sea." And you know what? Stupidly, US rebuffed that offer and they stepped up naval patrols. So instead of Xi Jinping being duplicitous and having reneged on his promise, he actually made an offer that was rebuffed. This is factually true, but completely unknown in the west and you.

There is only 1 China and US suppose to take lead in observing the UNGA resolutions and abiding by the international law and basic norms in internationals relations. There is but one China in the world. Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory. The Government of the People’s Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China. This is an undeniable fact, a universal consensus of the international community and a basic norm in international relations. 183 countries in the world, including the US, have established and are advancing diplomatic relations with China on the basis of the one-China principle. Resolution 2758 adopted at the 26th Session of the UN General Assembly in 1971 stated in black and white that it “decides to restore all its rights to the People’s Republic of China and to recognize the representatives of its Government as the only legitimate representatives of China to the United Nations, and to expel forthwith the representatives of Chiang Kai-shek from the place which they unlawfully occupy at the United Nations and in all the organizations related to it.” The resolution made it clear that the government of the People’s Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China, including Taiwan, at the UN; Taiwan is not a country but a part of China’s territory. It makes clear Taiwan’s status as a non-sovereign entity. UNGA Resolution 2758 resolved once and for all politically, legally and procedurally the issue of the representation of the whole of China, including Taiwan, at the UN. The resolution also made clear that there can only be one seat representing China at the UN and precluded the possibility of “two Chinas” or “one China, one Taiwan.” Since the adoption of the resolution, the one-China principle has been observed by the UN and its specialized agencies on the Taiwan question. Taiwan is referred to as “Taiwan, province of China” in all UN’s official documents. It was clearly stated in the official legal opinions of the Office of Legal Affairs of the UN Secretariat that “the United Nations considers ‘Taiwan’ as a province of China with no separate status,” and the “‘authorities’ in ‘Taipei’ are not considered to... enjoy any form of government status.” The Taiwan region’s participation in the activities of international organizations must and can only be handled in accordance with the one-China principle. The United Nations is an intergovernmental international organization composed of sovereign states. Taiwan, a  province of China, has no basis, reason or right to join the UN or its relevant agencies. This is stipulated in the UN Charter and is the principle that all UN member states must follow and an obligation that they should fulfill. USA as a major country and permanent member of the UN Security Council, the US is supposed to take the lead in observing the UNGA resolutions and abiding by the international law and basic norms in international relations, but it does just the opposite. The US deliberately distorted UNGA’s Resolution 2758 and propagated the narrative of so-called “Taiwan’s meaningful participation in the UN system” to hollow out the one-China principle, embolden and support “Taiwan independence” separatist activities, and serve its pernicious aim of suppressing China. Such an attempt to turn back the wheel of history and ignore global opinion will only be resisted and opposed by the international force for justice and will not succeed.

People seem to think that a multi-polar world means peace, in fact history has shown that peace happens when there is a single unchallenged hegemony- eg Pax Romana, Pax Mongolia, Pax Britannia, and now the fading Pax Americana. We now live in “interesting times” - where the strong do as they will and the weak endure what they must. I’m for a multi-polar world because it produces competition. And competition will be humanity’s savior, unless it kills us 😊
