In Malaysia, the Malays use it in cooking like nasi lemak (cocunut milk rice), kuih (cakes) & manisan (deserts) as well as minuman (drinks). We also use pandan as indoor potpourri like air freshener, & with flower decorations during weddings. It's definitely a multi purpose plant in Malaysia. Malays love the pandan plants, in fact almost all Malay families has it planted in the backyard of their houses. Thanks for sharing & introducing pandan plant to the world, Chad & Summer Rayne.

Neea Psychotrioides is so pretty, and if it doesn't grow much larger would make a super houseplant. I presume these were chosen because they're not toxic, Summer? What a great video and I love your tan ! I hope you have Sunscreen on out there! Thanks for uploading this it was such a good topic : )
@pattheplanter4 жыл бұрын
_Neea psychotrioides_ has fruit which are edible when ripe. I don't know with the _Wikstroemia_ but most of the Thymelaeaceae are horrendously poisonous, so I would not try it. The _Aristolochia_ can give you cancer if you eat it. All parts of the _Solanum pyracanthum_ are toxic. Toxic plants are generally much less bothered by pests. If you have pets or untamed children you might want to avoid them.

Great idea for a video! All are really new plants, for us. And so beautiful... At the Burle Marx collection, in Rio de Janeiro I saw another beautiful little Pandanus, all striped in dark green and bright yellow. Don't seems like common variegation, it's a very regular pattern.
