I saw a dog very similar to Holly yesterday. There where a couple of boys throwing stick with her. Then she came back with no stick. Then stopped playing. Over a period of time she wasn’t feeling well. They took her to the vet. He did an x-ray. And the stick had broken off and jammed about a foot of it underneath her tongue, and down into her throat. Needless to say no more sticks for that doggie. She is fine. But they won’t be tossing sticks with her anymore.

My neighbors game chickens came over to our property. I was so afraid my silkie rooster, Buster, would get beat up. I was so wrong. I was feeding. Those chickens came running. Buster came busting out of the bushs like a tiny, white, kool-aid man. He took them all out of the yard. They still run from him. Don't worry too much about yours. They are tougher than you think.

When Brooke is Fatigued, And she wants to sit and watch Her chickens. We would love to sit with her and watch them too. I think most of us would. That sounds they make, The way they interact, It's also soothing to us. Just an idea for when she is not up to her usual standard. Most of us love which she loves, And we love her ideas. Jason you hit a gold mine when you found her. LOL but you already know that. Blessings and healing to the family 😊

When it comes time to incubate, check shape of the eggs. More rounded eggs are usually hens, and more pointed are roos. My hatch was 8 out of nine hens, so pretty accurate.

If my Bantam insists on setting, I will try this. I hate it because I don’t have an easy way to segregate them, so the other hens lay where they are setting. Every time I try to intervene they outsmart me. And that is sad because I don’t see chickens as being the smartest animals on the farm!
