Hey Bryan, I learned something about Comanches today that you might be interested in. There's a very thin strip of sheet metal around the circumferences of the main gear wells that has a tendency to lose its fastener (7 screws IIRC), either by the screws falling out or the very thin metal tearing around them. This can result in the fairly wide strip of metal hanging down into the airstream below the wing where it flails around and gets bent, which might possibly cause a gear malfunction. A Comanche at my FBO today had this problem. As the pilot applied power to start the taxi, I saw something fluttering madly below the right wing root so I stopped him and got under to take a look. I thought at first at was a "Remove Before Flight" ribbon but it was actually this wheel well "bulkhead". All but the 2 screws on the aft end had either fallen out or the "bulkhead" had torn around them. But only the right side was so degraded. The left side was missing 1 the center screw and only torn slightly around the notch in its upper edge were it crosses a skin stringer. So the pilot removed the last 2 screws on the right side and thus the part, and flew home to begin looking for a replacement part. Anyway, just something to keep an eye on. It might cause problems with gear operation if it gets too bad.
