Hey stuff+ I have a tip for you to prevent tunnels, you can set a tunnel search for every day or every 3 days in the emergency tab, so you can make it impossible for them to tunnel out, it would also make the challenge of escaping a lot harder for you when you finish this prison.

It's a small thing, but I'm sure if you place a chair facing the CCTV monitors and the door control systems the guards using them won't tire as quickly and work more efficiently.

I have an idea to keep guards out of the inmate yards: Construct a separate yard somewhere in the prison (It will not be used) Put all the yards in access only except for the unused yard and the guard should automatically stay out of the access only yards and converge to the free access unused one. (You might have to do the same with the canteens)

If you actually issue permanent punishments, you can prevent a prisoner from ever leaving their cell (food from canteen then gets delivered through the door flap by guards), AND gang members will not get furious about it. This is perfect for legendary gang leaders. The advantage of this is that you don't need to manually end punishments anymore, and you can get the punishment grading up a little bit.
