I love the body styles of these 1991-1995 Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth minivans. They were HUGELY succesful for the Chrysler Corporation as families everywhere bought them in droves. They were rounded off just enough to look elegant but not too bubbly to look like a rolling jellybean(which the 1996-2002 look like). I love that you're doing rescues for these vans and i'm excited to see this baby cleaned up and running down the road.

I've never seen anyone get excited for a minivan lol but I had a 93 Town and country emerald green with wood paneling tinted glass tan leather seats fully loaded with the Infinity cd player 6 cylinder. It was a great van to drive from where I live in Boston Massachusetts to Miami and back did that trip several times. I put the bug guard deflector on the hood it was great for keeping the windshield from getting cracked from pebbles or anything on the highway i also put rain guards on the front doors. Car makers often times "dump" oddly configured vehicles on to dealers lots as part of their allotment ( whether New or Rental returns). With major fixed contracts to companies that supply components,many times vehicles will be equipped strangely, premium sound,deluxe interior,etc. for vehicles never ordered with them; so the inventory of components never gets out of hand that the car company agreed to pay for based on assumptions of potential consumer wants and demands. Case in point,the rebadged Chrysler minivan that VW sold as their own; overpriced that few people bought. It was a nightmare for Chrysler and VW, crapload of stuff ( specific for VW badged version)that would eventually be thrown away,yet Chrysler footed the bill from suppliers.

There is a 1995 Chrysler Town & Country version of this van in a private junk yard I have permission to take stuff from. I took the infinity stereo out, but it has all the faux wood, leather, digital instruments. It's also been parked since 2005. 3.3L, I have been debating asking him what he would want for the van whole. I live in South East Wisconsin. I'll ask him about it sometime if you want. It's rough, and the transmission fluid if black, so I imagine thats why it got parked but it sure would be good for parts. @MNMoparMinivan12 сағат бұрын
Very cool! I'm curious what would have broke the leafs on one with only 80k miles. Are they super rusty? They do make leaf springs for these still so that's cool. Just a bit spendy, and you have to reuse/find oem shackles. As long as the inner rails and suspension mounts points aren't completely rotten it's savable. Good luck!

It'll be a demanding vehicle to resurrect. If you want it to just run that's a task in and of itself. If you want it to not smell like mold and poop I see where you'd want to replace the seats, remove the carpet and headliner/replace above, and yank the dash out to vacuum and fumigate it. Mouse poop has loads of bacteria. And by all means paint it good and get it running right. If passing drivers see you driving slow in a disreputable-looking van they'll think you're like public tv's Red Green.

@MNMoparMinivanКүн бұрын
Good advice. Oil pump is driven directly off the crank snout on these engines don't have tensioners for the chain. So no good access besides what you have suggested. Theres always residual oils on the bearings... and if there isn't there was likely a problem anyway. A little cranking without spark or fuel to prime it up isn't going to hurt imo.
