I was adopted and abused by my adopted parents. Not all of us had great lives. I felt thrown away by my real parents. I wish they had kept me.

So sorry you were abused. The adoption narrative is that adoptees are wanted and loved but that is not always the case.

I am so terribly sorry!!! Have you taken a DNA test? What if they did desperately want to keep you, but couldn't?
@lorenefairchild7616 Жыл бұрын
@Vintage Rose ....I found my first-parents when I was 16. My parents were married when I was born. I was my mother's 3rd child and my father's 2nd child. Basically my mother didn't want another child and told my father that if he didn't sign the adoption papers she would leave him. He had initially refused to sign but when she threatened him he caved and signed. They later divorced. My father regretted giving me up. My mother felt she had done the right thing. My adoptive parents were abusive and my adoptive father was a pedophile as was an adoptive uncle. It was terrible. When I contacted them I was welcomed back but my mother is a very self-centered person with no maternal instinct so she and I aren't close. She had choices. She didn't have to give me up. My paternal grandparents wanted me.

That is so cruel that the young Mom was forced to give up her baby. Mom was not even allowed to touch her baby.

This happened to my friend when we were younger. She was 12 when she got pregnant. We were in catholic school too and sworn to secrecy. Her parents made her give up the baby and i felt like the school was in on it too. Then they acted like nothing happened. We are now 40 years old. Her daughter was adopted by a rich family. Her daughters on facebook but she doesn’t wanna intrude on her life. She is married now with 2 kids. Her daughter looks just like her and her dad who was also my friend. Her grandma cries now out of regret. So busy worried about what others would think that she forced her daughter to give the baby up. She got to spend only 2 days with her then they took her away 😭💜

Why people have to judge so bad instead of liking the happy ending. I'm 68 and just remember one girl in high school got pregnant and in those this was a shame, she lost all her friends. 1966

THIS IS ONE REASON WE HAVE SO MUCH TROUBLE WITH YOUNG PEOPLE TODAY, THEY ARE FORCED TO GROW UP IN AN ENVIRONMENT WHICH IS NOT HEALTHY AND THEY SHOW THIS IN THEIR ACTIONS,, I KNOW SOMEONE WHO GAVE UP A BABY FOR ADOPTION AND FOR THE BABIES SAKE THAT WAS A GOOD THING AS IT WAS FOR THIS WOMAN. WHEN YOU RUN WITH HOOKERS AND DRUG ADDICTS LIKE I HAVE, MANY CAME FROM VERY BAD HOME ENVIRONMENTS SO FOR THEM ADOPTION INTO ANOTHER HOME WITH A GOOD ENVIRONMENT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE BEST FOR THEM.

Parents are so full of "oh, I did something wrong and now I must make her give up the baby so the world won't judge ME" The grief that parents cause their children and their grandchildren is insurmountable. All so the parents look good to the world. Shame on those parents who can't be strong enough to support their child when they made a mistake.
@LAVirgo676 жыл бұрын
It was very common back then. Now it's more acceptable for women to keep their babies.
@ThePeachygal4 жыл бұрын
No she was not old enough to financially support her child and her parents should not have to do that. Now, if they choose to, okay but sadly with some young women when the parents do that, they keep having babies0 and bringing them home for the grandparents to raise. I have a friend whose daughter is now 30. she has had 5 children and not raised any of them. Her mom has ended up with all of them while the daughter flits from man to man. What is even worse is the grandmother lives in poverty as she is not financially able to support 5 children.
@TheKetamineAddict789 Жыл бұрын
the Karen seems to see it all from Society's point of view, You can't expect all parents to be equally Great & Flexible. Parents are human too & They also need help. most people who Shame parents were known to be childless themselves, So OP's argument is nothing but a slippery slope argument & victim-blaming.

I was seven years old and I was taken away from my biological mother and stepdad. I was living with one of my grandparents and then i was put in a foster home. Then i was adopted when i was nine years old. In nineteen eighty six my biological mom and i was reunited on my graduation. I thought i would never be reunited with my biological mother, father and my two sisters.
