Will this New SEBI Rule make Options Trader More Profitable or Increase their LOSSES?

SEBI brings out rules across Stock market formats every now and then. Some of these rules are around retail traders as well like the one we are going to talk about in this video.
This rule is about cutting down the revenue sharing of transaction charges between NSE and Stockbrokers.
You might think, so what? What is in it for me, a retail trader?
Well, there is a lot. A lot that indirectly impacts you. How?
This revenue sharing of transaction charges makes the brokers to promote option trading among retail traders. The apps are built as per options trading, the workshops are help as per options trading, the finfluencer marketing campaigns happen around option trading.
Now, if this revenue sharing of transaction charges on option trading is stopped by SEBI, the incentive that the broker used to get for promoting options trading will get killed.
If that gets killed, then the broker would need to do something else, think something else around its business model to keep up the revenue if not increase it.
And then, if the brokers or social media stops promoting this format, new retail traders will not enter at a scale that they do today.
This would help the profit percentage in options trading increase too.

Benefits & Problems with this Rule: Benefits: 1. New Traders, hopefully, wont get into options directly. This is the biggest chunk of loss making traders and beginners must not start with this format. 2. Brokerage houses, if make more money, may get the flexibility to spend more on Infrastructure, tech and support. Only the affected ones understand the loss of one app glitch is higher than the brokerage paid for the whole year. Concerns: 1. If Zero Brokerage model shuts down, new traders with very small capital might find it hard to trade in this format. 2. NSE might keep the same transaction charges for itself without impacting itself, but still impacting the retail traders. What do you think. Pls comment.

STT was introduced when government decided to remove LTCG tax. But BJ party government didn’t even remove STT when they reapplied the LTCG tax, now traders are giving additional taxes for no reason. LTCG + STT even tho STT was introduced in place of LTCG tax.

There is weekly expiry. It's just that expiries for specific index has changed, instead of all being on the same day. Nifty or Bank Nifty, they all expire after trading for 5 days. No body has forced you to trade every index expiry. For example, I have never trades Mid cap expiries, never trades Bank Nifty expiries. I only trade Nifty expiries and scalp in fin nifty expires. Occasionally trade in sensex expiries. That's it.

Even if sebi brings these rules then also I think that a new person with limited capital will always go to FnO segment, especially options first . As with limited money the ROI or ' bang for buck ' is very good compared to cash segment even if there is substantial risk of account wipe out in FnO segment trading. For me ' large position with less capital ' is the " entry barrier " which SEBI will never be able to address it in it's entire lifetime of existence. It's comparatively cheap to trade and make big bucks with less capital even if further charges are added on FnO segment. People are not idiots. If they can buy & hold a large position on a small margin for a few days to make money then why will they trade in cash segment where they have to put 100% capital to hold few stocks even if they can hold position for eternity ? A small % move in options will give good returns than one who does swing trading in cash segment . To a person will less capital it will never make sense !

Regulations on brokers n exchanges will not affect much, they r smart. To protect retail traders, SEBI must keep a entry barrier for each segment like basic qualification including awareness of pros n cons and complete working method of each segment and each instrument to be traded. It is not a good rule. The monopoly of Full TIME brokers will rise again. They were charging Rs. 100/lot in 2020. If they charge similar rates again, the retailers will be thrown out. Personally I liked the ZERO brokerage plan very much. If someone is coming into FnO without getting trained and lose money, it's his fault. Trading par GSt nahi lagana chahiye, anyway Govt STCG aur LTCG mei acha revenue kama Rahi hai. Job loss is on mega scale aur Naya business kholna sabke bas ki baat nahi, so trading is one good option where dependency is less( creditors aur debtors zero) and overall establishment cost is zero, capital infused is directly utilised in the business. Infact options trading is considered as business income while filing ITR. Entry barrier should not be there..
