I tested the LIVETARGET Pinfish lure to see if it would catch Snook. The results might shock you in this review. I fished the same area where I was landing fish one right after the other the day before. I also was working this new lure during the same time of day, sunrise. To my surprise I got hooked up with a Snook on the very first cast. Soon afterward I had one landed in the kayak. That's when I decided to do a review of the LIVETARGET Pinfish lure.

Many of you know that this live Pinfish are one of my favorite baits to fish with. I have to be totally honest here, I didn't think this lure was going to be very attractive to these Snook. I've always said that the live ones have to be extremely vibrant because that's how this species of fish likes to eat them. I kept thinking there's no way this piece of rubber could possibly vibrate like a fresh live bait on the hook.
My retrieval was steady with a lot of twitching and some periodic stopping in order to let it fall for a moment. My approach worked over and over again as these feeding Snook took aggressive strikes on the lure.

REVIEW
Here are the things I like about the LIVETARGET Pinfish lure:
1. It's the perfect size to attract any sized Snook
2. It skips really well when casting under docks or mangroves
3. The lures sinks rather quickly
4. It literally looks like a Pinfish
5. The dorsal area of the lure acts as a weed guard
6. It can me fished with or without a treble hook
Here are a few things I dislike about the lure:
1. The casting accuracy is hindered by the shape of the lure. I'd say about 75% of the casts landed very near to where I was targeting. It's because the lure is flat and has a tendency to waffle around in the air a bit.
2. It's rubber and after catching about five Snook I noticed the tail area was beginning to rip.
Without a doubt this is a lure that I will try to keep in my saltwater tackle box at all times. What I find impressive about this Pinfish lure is it can be fished in deep, mid depth or shallow water. It's a great bait and by the way the Snook reacted to it, I'd be shorting my chances of catching fish if I didn't fish with one.
