Will This Pinfish Lure Catch Snook? SHOCKING RESULTS! LIVETARGET Review

I tested the LIVETARGET Pinfish lure to see if it would catch Snook. The results might shock you in this review. I fished the same area where I was landing fish one right after the other the day before. I also was working this new lure during the same time of day, sunrise. To my surprise I got hooked up with a Snook on the very first cast. Soon afterward I had one landed in the kayak. That's when I decided to do a review of the LIVETARGET Pinfish lure.

Many of you know that this live Pinfish are one of my favorite baits to fish with. I have to be totally honest here, I didn't think this lure was going to be very attractive to these Snook. I've always said that the live ones have to be extremely vibrant because that's how this species of fish likes to eat them. I kept thinking there's no way this piece of rubber could possibly vibrate like a fresh live bait on the hook.
My retrieval was steady with a lot of twitching and some periodic stopping in order to let it fall for a moment. My approach worked over and over again as these feeding Snook took aggressive strikes on the lure.

REVIEW
Here are the things I like about the LIVETARGET Pinfish lure:
1. It's the perfect size to attract any sized Snook
2. It skips really well when casting under docks or mangroves
3. The lures sinks rather quickly
4. It literally looks like a Pinfish
5. The dorsal area of the lure acts as a weed guard
6. It can me fished with or without a treble hook
Here are a few things I dislike about the lure:
1. The casting accuracy is hindered by the shape of the lure. I'd say about 75% of the casts landed very near to where I was targeting. It's because the lure is flat and has a tendency to waffle around in the air a bit.
2. It's rubber and after catching about five Snook I noticed the tail area was beginning to rip.
Without a doubt this is a lure that I will try to keep in my saltwater tackle box at all times. What I find impressive about this Pinfish lure is it can be fished in deep, mid depth or shallow water. It's a great bait and by the way the Snook reacted to it, I'd be shorting my chances of catching fish if I didn't fish with one.

Not enough gap on the hook...the dorsal fun weed guard is why you jumped so many off...if you want a better hook up ratio take a pair of pliers and off set it.

Mirrodines are meant to be worked slow. I do better with then in winter, when baits need to be worked slow. They are meant to be fished in about 5 to 6 feet of water, the drop rate allows you to work the bait just above the grass. Im telling you once you figure it out, it's a great wintertime hard plastic.

Dude, great to hear from you. Where have you been? Thanks for the tips. I'm going to get it figured out for sure. I have four of them in my tackle box. Like you, my buddy Otis says they are amazing lures. He tends to twitch them very erratically on a slow retrieve. The way those Snook were feeding in this video, I'm sure a Mirrodine would have done the trick.

@@RadReelingFishing Look up Pico Lure or Bayou Boogie Lure on Fleabay, they don't have a tail but I bet it's be a much better investment. You don't fish it like reg lures. You crank/jerk it in and it dives,it'll float towards the surface and backwards when you stop till you crank/jerk it again. Replace the hooks with singles and add a twister tail on the back hook, bet it'll get lots of bites. I have a gold Bayou one I bought back in the 90's?,it looks quite a bit like a Pinfish. There's also a Pico Perch mud bug color that's real close.

I use light line for most of my fishing 12 lb mono 20 lb leader which seems ample for most fish , if I know Tarpon are on bait pods near shore I switch to 20 lb mono with 30 lb mono the hook up rate is never that good for me seems like when I do hook up the Tarpon are 6 ft long over 100 lbs your friend is right on. You catch more fish in your short videos than I have caught in a year which is why I am switching to river wad fishing plus when the surf is dirty and high east winds I can still fish the river, love your videos.

Rad Reeling Fishing Snook, pompano, blacktip shark, snapper, redfish, big Spanish macks, seatrout, flounder, drum. Most of our beaches are fairly calm most of the time which makes it that much nicer. Big greenbacks are deadly out there and for artificials I’d try some silver and gold spoons or diamond jigs that cast a mile. Also, the yo-zuri crystal shrimp. Just remember to bring your reef safe sunblock 😎
