Unfortunately, I ordered a GSO 5.1 many months ago and now I realize I may never see that knife. On the other hand, I heard about Architect Knives, ordered an AK 6.5 in Magnacut on Saturday Feb 3rd, and it will be here on Thursday, Feb 8th. Can't wait to try it out.

Ive been using my architect 6.5 in cpm3v for 2 weeks doing all kinds of stuff with it. Batoning, Feathersticking, food prep, etc. its just as sharp as when i got it. I also really enjoy how customizable it is. Got blue handle scales and orange sheath with dangler. Perfect for me. Also im pretty sure its thicker than listed. My calipers measure it at 0.2" width at the spine. I think their whole line is really good. Ill likely be buying the 8 and 4.5 or 5.5 models as well. I love all of the steel options they offer too. Absolutely great knives imo.

I've been waiting 16 months for the GSO 5.1 I ordered and I'm sick to death of bullshit excuses from Survive. Watched this video 3 hours after you put it up, paused it and ordered the AK 6.5. Thanks dude! Oh and they do a blade only option which I went for as I already have the Knife Connection G10 Esee handles which it's designed for, and I will make my own kydex sheath.

Finally. I was waiting for this review. Architect knives are awesome. I got the Architect 6.5 in magnacut, and it's by far my favorite fixed blade. Architect knives also has amazing customer service, and they had the blade at my door within a week of ordering it.

I just made a video on the 5.5. The website says that as of 2023 they choose white river for 3v also. But then on the blank it says tops. Kinda confusing

Our current run of AK 5.5 and 6.5 are TOPS Made. Future runs of all 3V will be made by White River. Both GREAT companies to work with in product, and people.

You nailed it! AK is knocking it out of the park! I just got my Survive GSO 5.1 in CPM-3V after opting out of the Magnacut! It was a Horrible buying experiences! Left a very bad taste in my mouth! Will never buy another Survive product!

Need to be comparing this blade with the Esee 6&5. From my understanding the components of these architect knives (I know the handle scales, but I believe the sheathes as well) are specifically designed to be interchangeable with the Esee 5&6 models.

They are Esee knives. I have the 6.5 & 5.5 and I took the scales off of BOTH and swapped them with my Esee 6. These are not good knives. Get the real deal not a knock off. Thank me later.

The sheaths are not interchangeable, only the handle scales. The 6.5 is thicker and different shape than the ESEE 6 where the ESEE 5 is thicker and a different shape than the ak 5.5.

@@KnyfeLyfethey aren’t ESEE, they just share the same handle profile shape. TKC started making aftermarket handles for ESEEs before they launched architect. I have the esee 5 and 6 and the architect 5.5 and 6.5 in 3V. The architect blades are the ones I use way more.

@@KnyfeLyfethis is just uninformed. The “real deal” as you call it uses 1095, a softer, inferior steel, that will rust much more readily. Architect is not shy about their connection to ESEE, but the quality of the steel and design really stands above a standard ESEE

Support Architect Knives 100%! Survive Knives are not worthy of your support. Takes 6 months or longer to get your blade, and THATS if you are lucky. Many people get nothing at all and they keep your cash.

Awesome info man. Would you recommend canvas micarta or g10 for a knife that's carried in a marine environment? (Obviously rubber is better)

I 100% agree with you’re assessment...AK Knives are a great alternative to Survive Knives, and I like the direction they are going... My experience with Survive Knives has lead me to just write them off. I have replaced what I wanted from them several times over, and the hassle to get my money back has proven not worth it. I will be surprised if I ever get my knives from them, but they killed the desire to own one long ago...

I received my AK8 in 1095, the company ships super fast. I’ve used it and it definitely a really nice knife for the money. Value is definitely there.I have to say, you get to pick the scales and options on the sheath. The company responded to me right away with questions I had. Blade shipped out the next day and three days later it was in hand. I definitely wouldn’t buy from survive. Especially if they aren’t answering customers. I highly recommend this knife co. Three thumbs up 👍🏻

Architec Knives uses the Same Exact handle as the Esee 6 on their blades , the Handle Scales are interchangeable with each other , pretty cool .... 👍🖖

Totally your call. I love 3V but because they are using Peter’s Heat Treat you’re gonna have good luck with either steel choice.

I agree i think the customizable knife center builds are fantastic and no wait for them hell it makes sense to me. But when i have extra money and can wait i enjoy survive knives as well maybe this weeek ill order an architect check it out.

Sooooooo wrong, more inaccurate info. AK knives other than 1095 are manufactured by White River. AK knives in 1095, along with TOPS Knives, Esse Knives and EKA Knives are manufactured by Rowen. Smh Smh !!!
