Sounded like Scott had some difficulty breathing walking up hill, for my breathing inflammation issues. I use a homemade remedy. One cup organic honey, to it mix in a heaping teaspoon of each of these three turmeric powder, ginger powder and Ceylon cinnamon. I keep in cupboard so it is always ready to use. I have it on toast n not in my tea as the honey loses some of its antibacterial properties in the heating process. It ferments within 24 hours. A refreshing drink for helping to open breathing is drinking organic pineapple juice for the bromelien in it. Hope Scott improves

I had totally forgotten about those transfers. In the 1970s, you could also buy transfers with scenes that folded out where you could rub down the images anywhere you wanted. Breakfast cereals also came with plastic toys, paper cutouts, boxes with printed on the inside with things to be made. Tea came with cards to be collected and collectable football cards and later Star Wars cards to be bought on the way to school. What a time to be alive.

Loved seeing you use that paper "model" to plan out your "bunker". It's a fairly common way of room planning I think - at least here in Australia. It really helps take away the struggle and juggling around of chunky furniture and makes it much easier to go through the various options and possibilities before putting the actual furniture anywhere. I hope it all fits in well and is the optimal work space for you Scott. Love your channel and really enjoy not only seeing how you're doing things and what you do but also loving all the gorgeous scenery shots. They could have filmed endless Camelot type movies there or Lord of the Rings segments. Am finally getting my head around your incredibly dry humour. I can't imagine many of your US audience understanding it at all. Eagerly anticipating the products of your new camera gear. Can't wait.

The wood looks like ash or walnut maybe. Like you said, once you Osmo, it may become clearer. That old rotting tree trunk you filmed, what causes that green tinge to the wood? Is that algae? I don't think I've ever seen a live slug. I've seen pictures of them, but I've never seen one slurping along. I saw one gal who was gardening on youtube and she put out shallow saucers of beer to attract slugs. I thought that was weird. Another was talking about using small plastic containers of half powdered sugar and half baking soda. The previous residents probably put a barrel on a donkey and had the donkey carry the water down the hill. Columba sure got around. I think I saw a program from Time Team who was digging up some Scottish Island where Columba might have visited and started some small community.

I think Scott had got his saints muddled and the cave he visited in Northumbetland was most likely St Cuthbert's cave, where it's said the monks of Lindisfarne rested with Cuthbert's body after leaving Lindisfarne on their journey that eventually ended at Durham. It's known locally as Cuddy's cave.

I think your illness came from the sanding because you had stored the bookcases in the byer which is damp, mould spores will have started to grow on the wood and when you started to sand the said bookcase these became airborne and you breathed them in. always always wear a mask when using a sander as it is not just mould you need to be careful of with old furniture the paint also could contain lead.

We had a problem with slugs getting into the kitchen on a daily basis, so I ended up digging a two foot trench right along the outside kitchen wall (down to the foundations) and sheathing all the outside stone work with a layer of cement (right up to the cladding) and that did the trick. PS, you also need to make sure you cement around the sink outlet pipe too. The slugs actually live in between the brickwork in these old stone cottages, so preventing them getting in in the first place is the only answer..

In lowland Scotland, a well is often a naturally occurring spring. It might have a stone facing attached to it or a stone basin fashioned to create a small drinking area. It is never - in my experience- the kind of deep, excavated structure which the Pussy Cat fell into(Ding, dong dell. The pussy’s in the well.)
