We are full timer as ive mentioned before. I think you need to decide now if you want a home base while you can. For us its different we have our children and grandchildren scattered from Qld to Vic so we do it because we like it and it gives us the freedom to move between the kids. Hope to meet up with you on our travels.

Yes, I agree. We love being on the road. Sometimes we do wish we had a home we could tuck into to relax. But predominantly love living on the road. Issue for us. Is we’re a little worried about being priced out of some places we like and if we decide too late. Yes fingers crossed reach out if you’re around :)

I think once you find ‘your place’ you will know. And it will be a feeling unlike all of the others. It won’t be a list of 15, it will be the one. Just keep looking for it 😊

Thanks Robyn, hopefully! We’ll be searching :)

We are retired and made the decision to sell everything and just travel in our caravan. We have been caravanning part and full time for over 15 years. We know that once we opted out of the real estate market we would not be able to purchase another house by we are good with that. We are lucky that we can park up with our daughter on her property when we need a break from travelling. For us life is so much easier and way less stressful living in our large home on wheels. Enjoy the holiday season and safe travels.

We're the exact opposite. We're very thankful we have a nice place to call home and that we can make it user friendly as we get older and the inevitable health issues start to rear their ugly heads. It sure isn't getting any cheaper in terms of things like insurance and whatever but then I would hardly call costs of travelling such as fuel, site fees, maintenance or replacement of a tow vehicle or van cheap either.
@360-ExplorersАй бұрын
Hey David, absolutely. We are loving it! But yes sometimes when you want to take a break to just pull up sounds nice. At the moment we use caravan parks as our break. Which is nice but it’s not really “home” so I suppose we just need to find a nice base for us and the caravan. Merry Christmas 🎄 ❤️

We have travelled for a long time but now having a home base you can go out on trips then have a home to come back to and can even work to build up funds again. This way you have the best of everything.
@360-ExplorersАй бұрын
Absolutely, we have really been thinking about a home base. It’s just so difficult when the whole country is an option. We have narrowed it down to a few locations. But it’s just taking that leap after travelling for a while. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas ❤️

Can you plug the bluetti straight to your van so all the 240 vault works in the van
@360-ExplorersАй бұрын
Yes absolutely. We do it sometimes to run the aircon off grid It doesn’t run it for too long though. But if you didn’t have an off grid set up. It’s perfect for that.

Hi guys, just wanted to jump in firstly to say Merry Christmas to you both and Stella, of course, gorgeous girl. Our Loki would absolutely love her! Secondly, on the travelling/settling stuff, if you can't decide what you want to do when you've finished your lap, then who says you have to stop? Especially if the travel makes you happy. Perhaps you travel slower and take more time to enjoy each place? Maybe your goal could be to pick some places you've really enjoyed and spend a good chunk of time there to see if you do like it enough to stay there. Otherwise, keep on going, I say. Anyway, safe and happy Christmas 🥂🪇🎄🍻

Hey guys:) Thanks for sharing! Absolutely, we have thought of that and most likely what we’ll do until something really makes sense. In the back of our mind it’s this is amazing and all. But we don’t want to miss the chance to purchase a base/property for future. But we’ll definitely go around and look at the places which stood out. Stella and Loki can have a play Maybe we’ll run into each other on the road soon :) Merry Christmas 🎄 ❤️

Revisit the the places that stand out that you would like to see for longer do the lap but spend the time in those place see how it feels after that. You're still young enough to kick it on the road for now
@360-ExplorersАй бұрын
Yes true. I think going back around with the intention of picking a place might be a little different than the first time round. I’m sure something will feel right. Merry Christmas Chris 🎄❤️

We're probably the exact opposite in terms of wanting to travel but in terms of living somewhere we are extremely happy with our choice. We moved states and out of the city to a near city regional area in a very popular tourist spot decades ago and have been there ever since. So much of it will come down to what you can afford and what you expect in terms of employment as well. It's all well and good to live in some postcard place but you can't eat the scenery. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your situation, places like ours have now become extremely popular and very expensive in terms of housing over the last few years. I haven't watched any other of your videos so I don't know your skillsets but if you are in the trades or things like medical, teaching or whatever then you will have so many more options imo. I do wonder sometimes how it must be for people to sell up, do a lap of Australia or whatever and then have to come back to the reality of working flatout again and housing having gone up by a heap or having to rent in the current market.

Yes, fortunately for us. We run an online business and can work from anymore. Hence the decision to check out the country and see if there is anywhere our hearts decide to call home. Issue is after 16 months. We’re still very undecided. We are hoping to get into a tight knit community out of the big city. But of course it’s gotta be something we’re both set on. “Can’t eat the scenery” 😂 that’s hilarious I’m stealing that one! You’re not wrong though. Plenty of great spots just taking the leap from caravan to a whole new place is the ticker. When you made the move, was it based on a place you liked, or more of an investment decision… because it’s hard to find both I reckon. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas 🎄 ❤️

@@360-Explorers I moved to another state with my family when I first started work and got moved to this area. My now wife moved to join me not long after. My family then moved to another state and then to our original state and even though we tried to move to join them it just never happened. No place will ever be completely perfect and trying to find that place will just bring frustration and disappointment imo. These days it seems that social media, society and whatever else tries to push us to find perfection/happiness but my view is that being grateful for what we have is the answer. I always thought that I would love to live in Tassie or that we would end up living near the Ocean but it won't happen. Couldn't care less tbh. Hope you have a safe and happy festive season guys.
@HilltopFarmHomesteadАй бұрын
To be honest with you I don't think you can make an informed decision about where you want to settle until you've done all states. Then make a short list of 3 or 4 places and go back to those places and really check them out. I mean look at them from the point of view of a resident, not a tourist. Then you can decide from there. Hope that helps. Hope you guys have a safe and happy holiday season.

Thank you! Yes, I think so. We still have a bit to see, hopefully something just feels right and we can take the leap. Only issue is everything is so damn far lol. Merry Christmas ❤️
