I put a adjustable thermal switch and a fan speed controller on my stove so the fan turns on when it gets warm and turns off when it burns out. The controller lets me choose the amount of air. I even have the same fan.

Neat wood burner. Maybe you can source the circuit board from the furnace the blower came from and a thermostat to control it. Then you only have to feed the fire and figure out how much damping you need. Or you can use some parts from a wood stove heater (manufactured type) to control the damper also.

New stove steve looks like a beast .One thing you might think about is a sand battery .maybe as a base most sand batteries work with the heat going through the flue. I bet it would work at the base. Sand can hold a lot of heat letting use less wood and it would staying warm longer. The heat being at the base would work great with that design letting the heat exchanger work even when you don't have a big fire. You will need to use dry sand or leave the sand battery open at the top so any moisture can escape. You can store 800 deg plus easy without hauling in more wood. I really enjoy the channel the trucks you two build is awesome. Keep up the great work. Happy New Year
