@@sicotshit7068 Well, I also liked that song as well as a lot of my musician friends but there were a lot of songs that I'm sure that we all liked that Led Zeppelin didn't like as a whole band besides Living Loving Maid. For example, here are a few other songs that the band never played live because they didn't like them: D'yer Ma'ker' (John Bonham especially didn't like that one) The Rover, Down By the Seaside, Night Flight and In The Light. Also, Jimmy Page and John Bonham didn't like the song All Of My Love, and not did they not like All of My Love but they didn't care for the entire "In Through The Outdoor" album. Jimmy said that him and Bonham wanted some more rocking songs on the album, but he said that album was mostly the product by Robert Plant and John Paul Jones.

@@sicotshit7068 Yeah, I started playing music when I was 11 years old and I play guitar, drums keyboards and piano and vocals. I played in a lot of bands in the late 80's into the 90's. A lot of the musicians that I played with were all Zeppelin fans. I've played a lot of their songs in different bands along with original songs that me and others would write, and I have lot of books and magazines on them, however, some of the really big information that I got was from one of my ex-girlfriends back in the 80's. She went to a few of Jason Bonham's concerts when he was in the band Bonham. At one show she went to she got to go backstage and meet Jason in person. She knew a lot of the things I wanted to know about Led Zep, so he made time for her, and she asked him a lot of questions on my behalf and wrote them all down. So, I was then getting information directly from the source. She said that he was a very nice guy to make time for her to ask a lot of questions. The only thing she forgot to do for me was get me an autograph. She even forgot to get herself one with her also being such a big Zeppelin fan. I guess it was because she was so excited to get to actually meet him and ask him all those questions. I'm sure she got lost in him answering all the questions.

Those two songs show again why Jimmy Page was the guitar savant of the 70’s. Dude shredded it! Zeppelin was the perfect bridge from the end of the 60’s to the start of the 80’s when new wave and alternative music was starting. Those 10 years they were what every other band wanted to be. Unfortunately John Bonham passed away and it ended, but just an incredible run that will never listened to forever.

On the LP the time between the two is so small that DJs couldn’t stop it in time so just play them together. Some stations that recorded them to carts would separate them. It was weird to hear Heartbreaker and not LLM right after. This video has an extended span between the songs that the LP lacked.

I scrolled through a lot of comments looking for someone to explain the real reason we always expect to hear the two songs together, and yours was the first I found. Most said it was because the radio stations always played them together. Those commenters must have never heard the album. The reason radio stations played the two songs together was dictated by the album; and that was because, on the vinyl there was really no gap between the songs. If Page didn’t like the song, they should have put more than .25 seconds between the two songs. 😂

Thanks as always for doing my pick, glad you enjoyed it!… Zeppelin II is my favorite album of theirs and although their music as you’ve come to learn is extremely diverse, each album in a way has its own feel. These two songs are very Zeppelin II!!!… and the second album is loaded with one great riff after another… And yes, more to come! Thanks and have a great day ❤

Jimmy Page described Zeppelin’s style as “tight but loose.” I recommend “Traveling Riverside Blues” if you haven’t done it.

Good call by Sam about the vocals on Heartbreaker, mixed further back. Zeppelin were masters in the studio.

Good 'ol Ed! Has Ed (or anyone else) suggested the song "Moby Dick" from their album Led Zeppelin II? A great instrumental with mad drumming by John "Bonzo" Bonham?"

Fun Fact: For Heartbreaker, Jimmy went into the studio days later to overdub the guitar solo in the song. Due to temperature changes and time, his guitar slipped just slightly out of tune. However, all 6 strings are just shifted equally. Jimmy did not realize this until a music student pointed it out to him making him giggle.

The playing of 2 songs together ........as a cultural decision from au mass, to just accept it, and it is rare. The only other example of 2 songs linked even on radio play is Queen's We will rock you/we are the Champions.

There are songs from led Zeppelin I prefer, but a bad song, nooo. you might try " In the light" or "Trampled under foot". Love your reactions.

Love the “double shot” from bands. There are many to choose from. I’d like to suggest “traveling man/beautiful loser” from Bob Segar’s live bullet album.
