The South Island is about 150,000km2 the 12th largest island in the world and the North Island is 115,000 km2 the 14th largest island in the world. Australia is 28 times bigger than New Zealand. We are similar in size to Victoria and Tasmania. You will be safe here we have no snakes here. Have a great time here and enjoy some of our restaurants with our local food. Welcome to NZ again. Keen to know gcm. Nobody talks about the gcm of vehicle and van in NZ, and the legal requirement of a class2 license over 6T. Allgood until an accident and ol insurance man asks for the class2 license, and check gcm of vehicles before declining any claim 😂

freedom camping isn’t really a flex you think it is. in some places it is a serious issue and locals often hate it. particularly when it’s abused. nz has epic paid camps and many are super cheap. i would encourage you to respect the communities and use proper camps particularly in popular areas.
