@@Murtagh653 Last Jedi was unwatchably bad. I recorded it on TBS for a rewatch, got about 3 minutes in, and gave up. It's not worth watching for free. Episode 9 was almost OK. It had some moments, like the necklace thing. Episode 8 was easily the worst of them all.

Star Wars fans get disappointed because we expect the movies to be great and they aren't. Star Trek films because they are usually terrible can at least pleasantly surprise us when they are OK or even merely competent (You've one dozen lens flares in three minutes you've seen enough for a lifetime!) . I haven't done the side-by-side but there are roughly the same number of theatrically released SW & ST films. It is very possible that even though the majority of the ST films are "meh" to god-awful, they MAY be more consistent in quality depending on which metrics you use (clearly not box office, of course. SW receipts are like the GDP of a small nation!). For this viewer, I can say that SW at least has two or 2.5 movies that are good-to-great and totally re-watchable. ST, on the other hand... maybe one? I don't think that franchise make much sense on the big screen.

Star Wars is such a weird franchise to me, because I like pretty much everything about it, EXCEPT the movies. It has great lore, some great books, some great series and some really good videogames (also a lot of stinkers, but can't win em all), but the movies just don't do anything for me. Whether it's the original trilogy or the prequels or any of the other movies, they're 'meh' at best and 'oh my god, get me out of here, I am so bored right now' levels of bad at worst.
